Has anyone else seen something like this happening with their Whipple pulley? Due to some unexpected medical issues, the car has been sitting for 2.5 months, but when I opened the hood to make sure rabbits haven't chewed my wires I noticed the pulley had changed to more of a copper color. 2.5 months ago, it was still black. My first thought is that it got too hot, but the car runs fine, and I've never noticed any of the temps above normal. The belt tracks good, and all of the idler pulleys look good. A cheap ir temp gun shows the pulley at 140f after 10 minutes of idling. I've never used any cleaning chemicals near it.
I'm stumped. I do have a ticket open with Whipple but haven't heard back from them yet.
