All right.

I know this has been discussed before but looking for specific info as I *may* have a line on a new Gen 5 kit for a 2018 locally.

I have a 2016. What would it take to do the 2018 Gen 5 on my car?

Is the heat exchanger the same? What about the parts list for install? It’s the 2018 Gen 5 stage 1 kit. Has injectors, but not sure what they are or if they’re compatible. I would need a tune for sure I know. I currently have Lund with the nGauge so would go that route.

What can I expect power wise versus the Gen 3/4?

Not sure this is worth it or not, but it’s local and available.

Help guidance and direction much appreciated!!!

Thanks!!

I don’t know the details, seen a bunch pop up on fb recently though. I’d talk to Lund first and make sure they’d tune it and any input they have.

I’d be talking to Whipple about this for sure.
Given that we don’t have any firm numbers for either the Gen 4 or 5 on a 15-17, it’d be pure guesswork in terms of “which is best”.

There's a bunch of things that would need to be done to fit an 18 3.0l kit on a 11-17. It can be done but it's probably just easier to wait another month or so till we release an actual kit for the 11-17's.

We'll have info to release soon enough.

Crap!

Yea, likely best to wait. BUT, it’s available, local and brand new! I could have it in my hands inside a couple days...

I do know it is in the works though from Whipple. But what it takes to fit this kit versus the new kit (when it comes out) is unknown. I don’t want piecemeal hodge-podge connectors (not sure if they’re different between the years) and I really don’t want to have to fabricate braces etc. Plug and play is nice!

I’ll check out Redcone’s build thread.

Thanks for the help!!

Heard back from Lund. They would tune no issues.

So, does everything actually mount up the same? Heat exchanger, electrical plugs (old IMRC connectors), bolt holes, intake etc?

Is this a silly idea?

Just wait for the actual kit. That would be your best bet, and you wouldn't have to figure out all that stuff. It's a silly idea to not wait.

Here's a few pics of the Gen 5 kits on the 11-14 cars. They'll look identical on the S550. Let us know if you have any questions in the meantime.

Its about time. I asked about the 3.0 on the gen1 and gend2 engines but Whipple made it sound like they didnt want to support the software for the older cars.

Im glad its happening now.

Looks awesome!

But, both those pics have different intercooler line set-ups going into the blower. What’s the difference? I see one is T’d off and the other is not.

Heat exchanger bolts up ok? Still recommend the larger HE and does it actually fit with the adapative cruise on a 16?

Thank you for your assistance!!!

From what I understand they aren't going to support the software and they will be sold as tuner kits that require and aftermarket tune. I could be wrong on that though.

Not true. When the 3.0l is released it will he offered as both a tuner kit and a complete system.
