So I’m brand new to these forums, I’ve come on here multiple times and feel like I’ve learned quite a bit. But I’d like to share my build and hopefully help some of you guys looking into going with a Whipple or whoever would be interested.

I’d like to thank terry from TBR with helping me buy everything I needed and just giving me all the info I needed.

Right now I just finished doing OPG/CS so the car is mainly all torn apart. I’ll be receiving the actual kit tomorrow.

A quick overview of what my build entails and what will be going on the car
Kooks lth
Brisk plugs
VMP BAP
IAT2 adapter from VMP
DW 1000cc injectors
Reische 170 thermostat
Dual fans for the heat exchanger
150mm throttle body
Gen 5 Whipple will be remote tuned by Lund
MGW shifter
Bmr cradle lockout
Vertical links
Springs- were installed before I bought the car
Stock clutch
Stock driveshaft
Stock halfshafts

I haven’t really been a track guy but I go here and there.

Well I hope you guys enjoy, I’m sure I’ll have questions and I can maybe help anyone else looking to do the same

Has anyone ran into the problem where the idler pulley doesn’t spin when it’s mounted to the idler assembly

So now, I tried to call @Whipple SC but they’re closed. Nothing in the manual covers the fuel feed line. The stock one doesn’t fit on the quick disconnect line, so I’m not sure if the fuel line comes apart or what I’m supposed to do. There’s a new line in the kit but it’s never mentioned

Great build man, friend of mine here has the Gen 5 on his 15 and I'm jealous with my Gen 4. I would consider the oversized heat exchanger and drop the duel fans though. Keep the stock balancer.

Ok so some more issues I ran into during this process.

I had an sct livewire that decided not to work anymore so I got a BDX from a friend. Luckily SCT helped me out with a recovery file and I was able to use it since the livewire was still married to the car.

I was able to load to tune to the car (tuning by Lund)

But when I did my OPG and CS I messed up the timing

So I had the car towed to a shop down the road from my house and I should have it back sometime next week. I just want to drive this thing!!

But here are some update pictures and besides all of these things going wrong it was pretty fun doing all this work myself. I just couldn’t bring myself to take everything back off again.

How did you know your timing was off?

mcleod RST? RXT is rated for a little higher power but I've heard of people having their transmission go when using the RXT.

edit: FWIW I DD my car, haven't tracked it, and I have been on stock clutch for over 20k miles. But I am centri, not PD.

That’s definitely the next thing I’m going to buy, I don’t track my car too often anyways. But we’ll see how the stock clutch holds up for now
