Is Whipple the only source for the 10 rib belt? Nothing but crickets when I looked up the belt number on the line.

Mine had also started last month. I flipped the belt when I change pulley and it stopped.

For those of you that have the 10 Rib belt system and the belt is squeaking check with Whipple as mine had the tensioner pulley installed backwards. Apparently they are designed to go on one way but it wasn't too clear in the original instructions. Mine was reinstalled correctly and squeak went away. Hope this helps.

Turn the belt around (front edge to back edge). Sounds crazy but it will eliminate any belt noise. It's not the idlers.
That trick works well...

Seems belts these days, are more prone to squeaks then ever before. No matter if its a stock car, or any form of supercharger. One thing is for sure, its not the idlers, on either system.

I swapped my belt around once and the squeak came back so I finally, thanks to Whipple pulled the idler pulley plate off yesterday and installed the new extensions (post) they sent me. Seems like the shop I overpaid to install my SC only had 1 out of 5 installed correct.. Not surprised but easy fix and took less than and hour to correct. While I was at it I installed a new HD Green Gates belt, it fit perfect with my 3.625 pulley. Fingers crossed that the squeak will not return and I do like the HD belt.

After about 500 miles my car with Whipple just developed the chirp. I have the new style stand with the feet that aren't pressed in so what could be causing this issue? Is it still worth flipping the belt or should I just buy a new one?

Any word on how much longer? I at least wish we had two belts, one for just the supercharger and the rest for the assesories. That way I could take it off.

For those of you who installed the new tensioner, did you keep the original belt routing or the "new" belt routing with different belt? I had my shop put the new tensioner on during the week and the clicking and squealing noise went away. However, I started the car this morning and the squeal came back. I popped the hood and noticed the belt is only riding the edge of the pulley above the tensioner. I'm taking it back first thing in the morning for them to readjust and throw a new belt on as mine has been worn.

I have seen mentions of a "new" shorter route method to run the belt. I want to pick up a new belt today from one of the local stores so that I will be ready to go tomorrow when I drop the car off. Just need to know which belt to get.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Did you instal the new plate stands as well, they help with alignment. My understanding from whipple is the longer routing is more forgiving than the short. I would call Whipple and get the new stands if you haven't got them.

New plate stands were installed to my knowledge as they did come with the tensioner. I'm going to try one of the duralast belts and see how I make out tomorrow. I'll keep you guys posted.
