Yes the k-brace is functional without the tower brace. All 20" wheel premium cars have it. The 20" wheels are very heavy and have smaller sidewalls than any other package, so the k-brace helps keep the front end sorted with those larger forces. The strut tower brace ties it all together for improved handling beyond that. Each is beneficial, but from a structural point of view, the k-brace is contributes more to the front stiffness than the tower brace. It adds significant stiffness in the vertical direction, in addition to the longitudinal direction. The strut tower brace has excellent stiffness in the vertical direction, but does very little in the longitudinal.That is a good question, I would like to know if a strut tower brace is worthless without a k brace? That's correct. I don't know the k-brace part number but any of the Ford parts stores should have it if you browse around. If I find it, I will post it.So, the K brace and the strut brace compliment each other, correct?
