I absolutely love my MGW Race Spec shifter. It seems to get even better as I put more miles on it.
I do believe it wears in over time, just like the stock did. I got my car right off the truck and it was a bitch to go into reverse at first, even grinded a little shoving it in a couple times. My MGW was very notchy for some gears initially after install and has already gotten a lot smoother better after 6 months.

I believe the syncros need to wear in for how the MGW pushes things around, once that happens it's as smooth sailing as a stock MT-82 is gonna get.

NEVER had any high RPM lockouts after I installed the MGW.
Wish i could say the same. It did help but i still get it especially at redline. Can't just shotgun that 3rd gear shift, which confuses me as to why it only happens on the 3rd gear shift. If it was torque related, it should hapen on the 1-2 shift but it never does, only the 2-3 shift.

I just installed the Barton stage 3 short throw shifter in my 2015 GT and it is a great shifter, I did install the springs and the solid transmission mount. It has a solid and positive feel, there is no side to side slop like the stock. Every gear is position and deliberate. Price point was good at $439.00 right from Barton. It took me longer to get the old shifter out then to install the Barton. I bought the pull up reverse style. and I like the action and feel of this shifter. I would give it a 10 out of 10 rating. Well built and well engineered. I worked in metal fabrication for 30 years and this unit is 100% quality.

Friday I will be changing the fluid in my transmission with BG synchro shift II.

Most guys go with a barton or mgw both are great options, just really depends on what you are looking for with the shifter feel.

I'm the owner of Beefcake Racing by the way. Let me know anything you need.

I did the fluid swap very early on with mine, it definitely smoothed out the notchiness of the shifting. Still not ideal. But it's better than the factory fluid.
