So I can't resist the urge to mod my car my wife thinks I'm crazy to swap parts on a car with only 500 miles on it. But I told her it's just who I am I got to tinker🤣.

So I'd love to do HP mods but honestly I can't really even fully use the 460hp it comes with in stock form and I'd like to maintain my warranty on the engine for a while. so I'm thinking of starting with better tires and rims or should I start with the suspension first. I've got 235 all season tires not the best for traction. I have 2k I'm willing to spend right now where would my best gains for the buck be spent. My car will mostly be street driven in the summer and I'll take it to the drag strip a few times a year thanks.

Get some wider wheels and tires.

With having those 235 tires that would be the first thing i'dmlook into. As for which ones there are many many threads in the wheel and tire forum to read and get plenty on information from.

forget engine mods... get better tires. you'll feel you just added more power.

Remove the wife mod and then lock down the IRS and upgrade to sticky tires.

Yeah, wheels and tires first.

The Michelin Pilot Sport 4Ss are amazing tires. In a 4-square set-up. 285 wide or so.

Good call on wheels and tire. Your next upgrade should be a FI.

I agree with the general consensus, first investment tires. If your a dragster, you will probably appreciate going down to the 18’s to get some more grip. Enjoy the car. I modified both of mine on the same day I brought them home, that is one of the many reasons why we enjoy these beauties!

Look at LMR

You can buy a set of good wheels, 19x10 all the way around, and a good set of tires within your budget. The S550 looks SO much better on a wider wheel / tire combo. Not to mention the effect it has when you are driving it.

Thanks for the replies it looks like it's tires for me then. How wide of a tire can I go on an s550. I was thinking 305s in the back and 285s in front. or should I stick with the same tire size all the way around.

4-square. Keep it 4 square. Same size all the way around.

Don't put yourself in a position where you can't rotate your tires.

And it's stupid to put wider tires in the back, on a nose-heavy car.
