That one gallon of 93 will become so diluted by the 87 (if the tank is full after adding), that the effective octane most likely won't change at all. In order to get the car to see the 93 octane, the tank will need to be run close to empty of the 87 and then the 93 added.
But my motorcycles only has a 2-3 gallon tank. I will no longer top up anymore for winter etc

Ie. Like a gallon or less 93, but actually tossing piss in it

The only real way to actually see the difference in the 87 vs 91 Octane would be to be monitoring the Knock activity with an N Gauge, SCT or other similar device.
I would bet on 87, the Knock sensors will be showing a positive knock, which a person would not be able to hear.
Even with 91, I would sometimes see the + knock. Negative is good and with some Boostane, I see only - knock, adding timing.

I’d like to think even if my fuel got diluted my sport bike would pull timing just like our cars do. I don’t know though as I’m pro tuned on my bike. But here on out I’m only filling up when low to reduce risk of just pumping 87 in.

It doesn’t even have an o2 sensors or cat as I ripped them out. not sure how that affects fueling in all sums of things.

Top tier is double the detergents of the minimum. It cost $.
There is a difference, but imo nothing a bottle of cleaner can’t fix every 50k

I don’t understand why one bp gets tier and other doesn’t.
I throw a bottle of BG 44k in all my vehicles once a year in the spring. Been doing that for years and my 06 Sienna runs like the day I bought it.

my Scion tC has like 175-180k or so. I tossed the BG 44k platinum off amazon in the tank, tossed the whole can in the gas fill. got lower MPG initially, (detergents) but the next tank, I got like a 5mpg boost. im getting 33mpg a gallon again its been solid ever since.-- definitely bought it back to life a bit.

I am weary about Ecoboost though, I tossed the proper amount of seafoam in my tank, and it ran like DOG CRAP. AFR's was spiking everywhere, I really thought it was going to blow. I was idling, it would drop to, stutter, afr was like 10-12-14-16-14-12-10-14-16-.

I hurried put it on the highway and did a cruise/controlled steady burn and flushed the tank out on a nice quick long drive. no wot' no playing. babied that tank

I tried 87(top tier) in my GT and will never do it again. When driving around normally, you won't notice a thing. Then I heard a little rattle when I suddenly hammered it (presumably some form of detonation). Never heard that noise in the 16K miles I've had this car since new. Back to '93, and haven't heard it since. I suspect it's absolutely harmless, but I don't want to hear it again over a couple of bucks on a fill up on a V8!

So, to answer the question directly: 93 octane at Costco which is Top Tier fuel and is usually a significant savings over any other gas station.

That's what you get for feeding her peasant swill. Now make sure to spill that 1/3 gallon of leftover 87 on the ground every time you fill up with proper 93.
I think I'll flick it into the air and light it in dramatic DISTASTE!

there was a guy at the gas pump like 5 years ago, he had a beat up pick up truck, he went inside to use restroom took him awhile, he came outside and the entire gas station area was flooding with fuel he had a giant hole in his tank, and he didn't know and had it auto pumping. no one was paying attention.

they had to bring a firetruck out, and shut down the pumps and use like, an entire coverage of kitty litter from looks of it.

I once bought an old F250 from an auction and decided to fill the rear tank on the way home. $40 in and I noticed it all was leaking out. Heck, it was almost as bad as the oil pan leak lol. I never filled the rear tank again but I did fix the oil pan leak and kept the truck for a few years. It saved me the cost of delivery for all the building materials that I needed for various projects.

Since Husky here was sold, no more 94 octane E10, they reverted to 91 E10 only, while retaining the 94 octane prices  . That was the only 94 octane available. Everything else is 91. So it looks like Shell V-power Nitro+ 91 it is. I won't change the tune. As the KS'ers do a fantastic job. So if I feel frisky (haha) on the wkends I'll just add some good ole octanium. The PCM gives me all the timing sauce.

94 octane. In some parts of Canada it is available at Petro Canada, Shell and Sunoco.

I run the Petro since the station is 2 minutes away.

If out of town I use a gas-finder app for stations that have 94. If none nearby I look for 93...then 91.

For the sake of only a few $$, run premium.
