When to Wax

Anxiously awaiting delivery of a yellow eco premium. 24 more days according to COTUS.
I live in Houston, and the summer sun is Brutal on paint jobs. I would like put a quality wax job on it soon after I take delivery, but not sure if that is a wise idea.
Is there a "cure" time for the paint before it should be waxed?

You're good to wax as soon as you take delivery. The paint should be well cured at that point, so no worries. You definitely should clay the car as well, you'd be surprised how much junk comes off a new car.

Second the clay bar. Easy and quick and even a new cars paint has junk on it. I used a sealer after the clay bar (Jetseal) and am very pleased with how easy it's been to keep clean so far.

You should just take your car to iWax Auto Detail. Jose will get your car looking as best as humanly possible. Here are my cars pictures after Jose got done with it.

That guys work is impressive, thats what i would do if i didnt(kinda) know how to do it myself. BTW, how much did that detail cost?
My car is due delivery in approx 6 weeks. I advised the dealer not to touch it.
My process i will be using.
Wash(2 bucket method with a grit guard), clay bar, polish with menzerna 4500 on a red pad using my da buffer, apply 22ple sealant, and treat all trim & rims with cquartz DLUX. when done i may put a coat of collinite 845 on the paint.

If you don't want to go into that amount of detail, wash, clay, and wax with collonite 845, car will look amazing.

3) glaze it! ( some shine would be nice right ;))
4) put some paste wax! (wolf-fuzio,americana wax patriot wax ect)
since its texas heat about every 3-4 months sounds bout right? right?
glaze and detail spray every week or so and you will keep the paint popping and protected

You always glaze before using sealant. you glaze to get the shine, then the sealant to lock in the shine and protect the paint.

wash = removes dirt
clay = removes contaminants
glaze / polish / compound(depending on paint condition) = removes minor imperfections like swirls minor scratches.. makes the paint "pop" there could be as many as 3-4 steps in this process.
sealant = locks in the shine, protects the paint. There are dedicated sealants and sealant waxes.
This is a basic outline, many pros have extra steps they use. On a new car all you should need is what i outlined in my first post.

That guy is top notch! After seeing your results it lead me to by the cQuartz products and CarPro stuff.

That guy posts on Facebook as well and has answered some of my questions along with Corey from CarPro.

Everything except the leather protection was $450(wheels, trim, glass, paint, under the hood). The leather protection was $250 by itself because of the amount of product he had to use. It will probably never need to have the leather treated again though so the higher initial cost didn't bother me.

I highly recommend collinite 845 as your wax/sealant. Very durable and lasts for months!

yes cant go wrong that way too,

they do suggest to go sealer first so it can bond with the paint better and long protection but cant go wrong either way

That is very reasonable, cheaper than it cost me to buy all the stuff and DIY. What did he put on the leather? I have the recaros as well, want them to stay looking new.

Do you apply a thin or thick coat of jetseal? Bought it but haven't applied it yet.

He used all carpro products. CQuartz Leather is the one you want
