Was thinking for my build of widening the factory 18x8 rear wheels to 18x10 or 18x11. Wondering if I can do that on the inside and then just space out w/spacer if needed. Anyone see this NOT working? I put it up on the lift and looks like there is clearance for at least 2 inches to the inside maybe more if I use a spacer.

Thanks,
Jason

It's cheaper and safer to get new wheels that fit that criteria. Widening wheels always seemed useless to me especially when they charge $200-$300 per wheel plus shipping and the end result is odd, just get new wheels.

I have a set of Racestars for most of the time, but was wanting a stealth look sometimes and since it will have big power soon I thought this would be a cool option for a wide 18" drag radial.

I understand, but in my humble opinion you can find some wide 18s that look stock and have proper rotating mass. Even if money is no issue, I'd still advise against it!

Its doable and there is a thread about that as well, only thing is widening the wheels will add more weight which is counterproductive to the vehicle, i would suggest a 29" wheel similar to oem style which

1. Provides wider width
2. Decreases overall weight
