I bought mine with these on it. The PO had the rear cutout traced/pinstriped to match the other blue accents on the car, which I think looks cool. Not sure if you can see that in the picture, though.

Hi All

Just a quick note: my convertible fender flares might have a really minor dimensional variation from the hardtop even though they are supposed to be identical. We had to play around a bit and do some minor shaving to get them to fit as tight as they do in the hardtops.

But they look great (in my humble opinion)!

True Story:

The female Mustang convertible asked of her male Mustang hardtop counterpart, "do these side scoops make my rear end look large?".

The male hardtop thought of the story his father once told him. If your wife or girlfriend ever asks, "do these pants make my rear end look fat?", answer very carefully.

So, do the side scoops make the Mustang rear end look large... my response below is in invisible ink:

I saw a few S550's in at the car show with side scoops. A few different styles were on display, but the one that I liked most was the Roush. I know these are for pure aesthetics. I'm torn because I've always made my choices based on function over form, but they remind me of my 68 GT. Be brutally honest.

The pic below is not my car but It's my color.

I've had the Roush on for a while and love em.

Brutally honest? I think they look like tik-tak. The S197 crowd went crazy with scoops, louvers and vents, to the detriment of their cars. The S550 bunch hasn't been as bad. I mean, it's your car and you get to do you, but the S550 is a sleek design and IMO isn't helped by glued-on scoops and vents.

Ive seen Shelby's hundreds of times at shows and such, but this pic really accentuated the scoopyness of the them. Does anyone know what functions these scoops served? Cabin air circulation?
