Just pulled 2022 GT W/1300 miles into the garage for suspension goodies. Noticed what looks to be oil under the car. Started working on Drivers side rear last night and noticed it was coming from this hose. Was in storage for 3 months. Any clue what this hose is? Seems like some sort of overflow coming from the rear of the car. I assume its blinker fluid. Thanks for any help.

I'm guessing from the images because I can't see where the other end of the hose goes, but possibly it's the rear diff vent hose?

It comes from the rear for sure. I'll crawl under and see if I can track the hose from the diff. I haven't been able to nail down the smell of the oil like substance, but that could for sure be it.

Thanks

If it's rear end oil it will be really pungent.

I think that's the water drain from the fuel filler cap ?

This makes more sense. The diff vent tube wouldn't need to be that long.

Yep, Its the drain from the filler neck. Car hasn't seen water since November 🤔 Condensation over winter?

The op said that there is oil coming out of the this drain tube. That will rule out the filler neck and point to the diff
Also being long and making a loop make sense if you don’t want crap getting into it

OP here.
It is a bit oily, but so is gas when mixed with water. I opened the gas cap and it has the same oily substance on the black plastic.

Any clue what the cause could be? Tank was about 7/8 full when I picked it up. Sat inside un-insulated building for 3 months in Indiana winter.

Just pour a bit of water in the drain around the filler neck. That will answer your question
Fuel is not oily, save for diesel, and dry/evaporate very fast
Oil, obviously not

Ha, didn't even think about that.

Just went and did that and can confirm that hose that runs over the strut mount does originate from the gas filler neck. Case closed, that's why I come here.

Did you put any additives in the tank? Maybe spilled some in the filler neck?
