Salesman THINKS he'll receive it by the end of the month.... I would hold on to your order. Not only would you loose your deposit, but travel expense there and what if isn't exactly the same, etc. Transport fees could run you $500 in all you could pay an addition $2k.

NC to Baltimore and back is a long day trip. Why have it shipped? Fly up,drive back. But I agree,drive what you have and wait until yours is built.

Exactly. Salesmen love to get you in a situation where they know you don't want to walk away. You may show up and hear something like, "I'm sorry, I just found out that was a stock order placed for a customer, but I have this other car..." or "You know I've got a guy coming in this afternoon who really wants this car..."

Be patient. Six months from now that extra time will seem like nothing and you won't be paying an extra $1000 plus interest for the same car.

I'm kind of dealing with this as well now.

Ordered one without magneride or shaker. Dealer has been great to work with and didn't charge me a deposit.
Found another one that had magneride and shaker but different color, for nearly the same price. (Less than x-price) And it's awaiting shipment now, while my ordered one is still in order processing.

When I mentioned it to dealer#1, he basically said this same thing. "verbal deal is BS - he'll hit you with dealer costs, but I control mine. Here's my offer in writing. Also, the car wont be here before mine, or at least he has no idea when it will come."

Mageride and shaker worth it? For me, I'm now focused on getting everything in writing, and watching the race for which one comes in first.

I would just wait. To me (and probably most), the extra time waiting isn't worth the extra expense it comes with.

I'm going to patient and wait for my car I ordered. I want to have a close relationship with the dealer. Like take my car there for oil changes and stuff. It's only about 20-30 minutes from my house. I am going to take good care of this car. Oil changes every 3000 miles (even though I drive 3000 miles in about 6 months on my 13). But that's only because we have a used car lot. My mom has her leased car, my dad has two SUVs(we'll more than likely trade one on my new mustang if the dealer will take it).

Be patient and wait. If that $1000 is burning a hole in your pocket pm me n i will give you an address to send it to. Your car gets here and it wont have had ever kid in town beating on it for a test drive like the one in Baltimore probably has had.

Here is one more advantage to waiting, besides saving the thousand bucks:

On a customer-ordered car, your name will be on the sticker, underneath the
Options listing. Way cool - I framed mine!

Not kidding, am serious, the computer that prints the window label imprints your last name on it...
