I would keep it and tell the son to take care of it for you. If my father left me something like that I'd treat it like it was worth millions

If it was me, I'd keep the car and take it out on a long road trip around the country. I'd go see all the sights that I've never seen before and try to hit all the best roads America has to offer.

Good luck with everything, I'm wishing you the best.

Wow, this brings us solidly back to the harsh reality that is life. :( Reading this breaks my heart, no one should really ever have to hear something like this. Truthfully, none of us can say what we would do, as you never know how you would react to something like this until it happens to you.

First of all, thank you for your service, you have put yourself in the position to serve and potentially protect all of us in the past potentially at your own personal risk, and that should be honored. God bless you for that. I hope that you are able to get the best care.

Second, I hope that you, and well everyone for that matter, are able to enjoy every moment to the maximum. We are all on borrowed time, unfortunately you just have been given how much time that is likely to be. I think this is an opportunity for you to solidify that bond with your Son through your car, drive him around in it while you can, and ask him to drive you in it when you cannot. And ask him to care for it when you are gone. If you think he can emotionally support something like that, that would be my advice. This must be a tremendously hard time for you and your family, and I genuinely wish you the best through this journey. Keep your head up, you never know what is going to happen in this life, we can pray that there is some sort of remedy found while you can still use it.

All the best!

Chris

Really sorry to hear this. I agree with others. Keep the car and enjoy it while you can.

I'm road tripping this weekend to go to my grand daughters 2nd b'day party. I'll be picking my son up and taking him with me. I've already told my adult daughters what is going on but wanted to wait till I could see my son and tell him with his mother and sisters present. I really don't want to ruin the party weekend so I'll wait till all the festivities are over before telling my son. It's gonna be a tough drive back to Tampa.

Wow this makes me really sad, in my opinion you should enjoy the car as much as you possibly can before you no longer can then pass it down as a forever reminder of yourself. This really did take a toll on my morning. I wish the best luck for you and your family as well as all the immense amounts of strength they will need. Drive that baby like no tomorrow and make sure you accomplish every dream you can possible as well as spend tons of times with the fam!

Sorry to hear it, I bought mine knowing I can't walk more than a few steps anymore, but I wanted one last great car. My wife and I enjoy it and she will be the driver eventually as I have no more options. Keep it and do what you can and ride it out. Tim, USAF retired AGE Mechanic

Tim thank you for your service. Is your issue with walking related to your military service? I've decided I'll drive it til I can't and after that I'll let my son drive me around.

Great decision. So sorry to hear the news. I won't pretend to know what it feels like to be in your position, but I can imagine it's disheartening to say the least. Enjoy your car to the fullest and all the best.

Sorry to hear this. I'll never know what I would do unless faced with this tough situation. I imagine though, I'd drive the hell out it as long as possible and hope my son would share my passion/enjoyment during this time and long after I was gone. I hope you find the answer that's right for you. Best wishes!
