What is the material of the upgrade headers?

Curious why you wrapped them.Yep $899. Just installed mine and I'm throwing it on the dyno on Sunday.
Science!!!Curious why you wrapped them.
LOL. Like my buddies tell me the Screamers are not necessary but why not.Science!!!
It's lava wrap from Thermal Zero. Supposed to keep heat out of the engine bay and also increases the speed of the exhaust flow.
I'm sure it isn't necessary but why not.
They are a 439 grade Stainless Steel. The same as we use on all of our piping. What is the material of the upgrade headers?
I had a motorsports engineering professor in college that worked for various Indy car teams who said never to heat wrap an exhaust. Since all the heat from your exhaust stays in the metal and cannot be dissipated the metal becomes brittle and cracks over time. This is the picture he showed during the lecture. You can see many others if you search "header wrap cracking".Science!!!

Well luckily, my headers won't be seeing anywhere near the heat of an Indy car but I'll keep it in mind for sure.I had a motorsports engineering professor in college that worked for various Indy car teams who said never to heat wrap an exhaust. Are you on stock valve springs? What was the weather like when u went 9.82 at 140? Seems like the car should have been faster on 887rwhp? Did you have any issues on that pass?Yes sir. I dynod on the same dyno with the stock manifolds on multiple boost levels and I'll do the same on Sunday.
I made 630whp @ 6 psi, 838whp @ 12 psi, and 887whp @ 15 psi (SAE correction) with stock manifolds.
But I also upgraded to ball bearing turbos so that may slightly impact the results as well.
Stock valve springs, DA was 2800 (90+ degrees in summer). I was only on 12 psi for that run. Turbos were also on their way out.Are you on stock valve springs? Got my hellion top mount from Terry waiting on the piping but just got the turbos and they are sexythe biggest benefit to the hellion kit is they are a "turbo company", they make turbo kits and that is what they do, not a parts company, not an installer making stuff in their back room. you won't find better customer service.
it's always our goto turbo system. we'll be installing one on our new 17 car. were doing the 4 into 1 turbo headers with the dual loud valve exhaust with 64's!
How much was it to upgrade to BB turbos? Any idea why they were failing so quickly? I am trying to decide which turbo to get with sleeper kit.Stock valve springs, DA was 2800 (90+ degrees in summer). I was only on 12 psi for that run. Turbos were also on their way out.
I now have ball bearing turbos and a slightly more aggressive tune. Hoping for 9.5 @ 145 next time out.
Not sure why they failed but they both developed shaft play pretty early on and it got progressively worse. It was $600/turbo to upgrade them. The repairs were covered under warranty. How much was it to upgrade to BB turbos? Any idea why they were failing so quickly? I am trying to decide which turbo to get with sleeper kit.
