Is the Bama SCT X4 locked for only Bama tunes or can anyone that makes tunes for SCT be used?

BAMA doesn't make the tuners, anybody can write tunes for your SCT X4. BAMA's tunes themselves are locked, as in they can't be altered by you or another tuner.

I know the tuner device is just for loading the tune on the car, but I don't want to pay a lot of extra money for a fancy tuner if it isn't needed. Id prefer the nguage if it overcomes the hardware limitations of the SCT, just not if it's substantially more expensive. I saw the livernois device is around $600, does that device have the same limitations as the SCT? Almost double the price.

We actually developed and use our own proprietary tuning software. As for the "box", we even go as far as using a proprietary motherboard and proprietary processor.

Of course I am going to recommend Lund. It's what we do and run.

If your looking for an alternative, Dan @ Livernois would be where I would go. They do a great job as well and have a great understanding and ability to tune.

I have almost completed the install of a vmp blower on my 15, but I have been told by people "in the know" that it cannot be tuned with my sct x4 because sct has not figured out the parameter that controls the aftermarket throttle body.

These folks also cannot give me an estimate as to when I can expect this to be resolved. I'm pretty tired of waiting. Is there another tuning platform that has the ability to make these adjustments?

Apparently Roush has made the adjustments for their kits, but they also have access to Ford engineers.
