Were you happy with the Continental Sport Contact 6 ? Based on price and availability, these are what I have narrowed down with my local tire shop as the best handling tire for the money but before I pull the trigger on the purchase I am trying to get some feedback on them from other Mustang owners. I do not track the car but I make spirited back road drives sometimes and I want to find a tire that has good grip and decent longivity without breaking the bank. Thanks
Yes, would use them again, they were a great tyre, dry handling was excellent and wet even better, no tramlining, they wear well. Didnt see any downside to using them.

The reviews I've read online seem to favor the Extreme Contact 2's quite a bit over the Sport Contact 6's. Not sure what the difference is between the two.

I went with Yokohama adventure apex in 305f and 325r. I read some reviews from the Camaro zl1 and Porsche groups and they really seem to like the tires.

I don’t do track duty, so I wouldn’t be able to compare vs Cup2 tires.

for the performance driving on back roads and such, the tires perform equally to cup2.

tramlining is reduced to a bare minimum and the tires ride quiet. I don’t drive in the rain so I can’t comment on wet traction.

I have a question for the few of you running AS tires on factory HP wheels. Can you let me know what size you’re running?

Replica HP wheels 19x10 squared with Cooper 305/30/19's ! I like to rotate and have had ZERO issues with traction etc!

Can I ask where you sourced these? How are they holding up so far? Are they about the same weight as the originals? Absolutely love the look of my M1 HP wheels. Would love to get these as a track set, if importing/shipping them to Canada is not too crazy expensive. I would get my fresh Sport Cup 2's mounted on the replicas, and buy a set of street tires for my OEM's...

I got them from Wheel Replicas in Texas. They are lighter and I've had zero problems with them.

LMR sells the same light weight HP style wheels, though they have been on back order for a while. I have a set and they are great!

I just bought a set from LMR a couple of weeks ago as they just became available again. Not sure if they sold out again though.

Is any of these two LMR options what you ordered? Im not totally in love with the look of the weave, but they could grow on me...

#2 - I really like the fact that they are 0.5” narrower in the front and will not protrude past the fender as on the original Handling Package wheels. This should reduce peppering of rock chips especially with 100-treadwear track tires Mustang SVE MHP1 Wheel Kit - 19x10/11 - Gloss Graphite (15-24) WK-351913 $1199

According to this video, Sport Contact is a Euro tire and OEM only in the USA. ExtremeContact doesn't really exist in Europe. Treadwear is a lower number on the SC (200) vs the EC (300-340)

I bought this set but in gloss black. I would've like the .5" wider rim for the front but the lower wheel weight over the factory Ford performance wheels was more important to me and I really wanted the black.

I'm hoping to figure out which tire to buy from this thread.

R U looking for street, track, or street/track set? If you choose the 2 latter, I assume you are not too concerned about tramlining and rapid wear, correct?

For M1 HP, I noticed that there are far more options in +10 mm in the rear and stock size or -20mm in the front... So 315 or 325 Rear, and 305 or 285 in the front. Narrower fronts would be ideal for street use, but less so for track use as you need all the rubber "you can afford" on the ground to reduce understeer and excessive wear...

Many hard core track users also opt for a square set (same size in front and rear, such 305's on same to 19x10" or 19x11" rims all around. This allows for quick rotation and more even wear. In stock size, the front outside wears out the faster on the track, even with HP camber plates pushed all the way in at -2.5* camber...
