stripes

Be aware with the stripe option that apparently (according to my dealer) they fade in and out, as per the photo in the latest price list. Shame, because if Ford had been bothered enough to offer proper OTT stripes I'd have gone for them, but why would anyone go for this! Another example of penny-pinching on the options list I feel .... GRRRRRRR!

Well I think they look better than solid better and ive specified them on my order!

UK specs for the car are what is shown on the attachment.

Ford have also added black rook and stripes as options but for me I didn't get asked if I wanted these when confirming my order a month or so ago and can only put that down to me having one of the first batch being as I ordered Sept 2014. Luckily I didn't want either anyway as I will be doing my own stripe design

Only thing we don't get is the Recaro option which mainland Europe gets. It's bu!! sh!t that we don't get it because of the air bags because both seats are identical and nothing needs swapping around from the seats back for either market!!

It appears interior trim level is not affected by taking the Custom Pack - had that from a couple of different sources now.
Reliable sources because there has been discussions on this on another thread to say otherwise?

I'm not sure there's such a thing as a reliable source. My dealer and apparently another member's dealer who seems to be well informed (Stuart from Hastings? - can't quite remember offhand).

I had a decision to make. I really didn't want the chrome window surround that comes with the Custom Pack - just a personal choice - so ditched it and added the options individually. I wouldn't recommend taking my word as gospel however as I won't be surprised to see things change between now and delivery. It's July this week and still no info on finance or insurance :tsk:

Edit: were the other discussions not surrounding the cars the media were driving which weren't production Euro-spec?

I think you're absolutely spot on there! :) By way of some evidence, there is a road test in this months 'EVO' of a Euro V8 spec car ..... and if the photos are to be believed the Euro cars are getting a strut brace, which is not something that has appeared on any spec list I've seen.

Bottom line; we probably won't really know until the car is delivred to us... I guess the Euro spec ones "should" be the same (or very similar) to the RHD UK spec, but you can't even guarantee that.
The UK price list doesn't confirm whether the "Custom pack" has any interior upgrades; it simply states that it "includes generous levels of additional equipment featuring..." then it lists the audio / nav / seats / reverse parking sensors / wheels / fasback chrome.
But it doesn't exclude the possibility it gives a "premium" interior... and we know that Euro specs do have more / different options...

I just struggle with the concept that any company would provide something as valuable as an upgraded interior package without marketing it. I'm sure stranger things have happened however.

Agreed about the reliable source comment. Such a shame though because Ford could have done an awesome job with advertising, displaying and giving out all the info on the car and yet they have failed miserably.

I am with you on that I don't like the chrome and the nickel wheels so I went with the individual options BUT I will be pissed if the custom pack does include an upgraded interior and when you look at the prices it may well have a hidden upgrade in the custom pack. IIRC -ÂŁ300 difference between individual options compared to the custom pack, which the wheels are just swapped out for each other and then I can't see the chrome costing an extra ÂŁ300?

TBH there has been so many discussions they all start to blend in to one lol.....we shall see what arrives in the coming weeks and see for ourselves if their is hidden upgrades.

Over on the General forum member R3v posted this link to a document reportedly showing differences between EU and US cars. Unfortunately its in German and do I speak that? Nein...

Anyhoo, as far as I can gather from the pictures the EU cars "Custom Pack" is referred to as "Premium Pack" and appears to include premium leather seats. We know the EU cars get Recaros so it's no great surprise that the seating options may be entirely different but whether this extends to the dash and door panels I don't know.

Just had a quick skip through the configurator and the difference between the individual options and the pack is ÂŁ210. I agree that with the wheels being more or less a straight swap it's not much of a bargain if the only extra is the chrome (and you don't get that on the vert).

The wheels are exactly the same price ($1,095.00 a set of either black or lustre nickel, genuine Ford Racing from CJ Pony Parts, including pressure sensors and programmer - although they may be the wrong frequency for the UK - still a bit of a bargain) so it is a really good point that there must be something extra over and above the chrome. Mine is a vert but I went custom pack because I didn't want find out after that there was something I could have had, but can't add later.

The more I think about it, the less sense the custom pack makes unless there is an interior upgrade (or something else they're not telling us about). Glad to have ditched the chrome, but I quite liked the nickel wheels on Magnetic. They strangely appear to be an option in mainland Europe.

It sucks that all the UK cars come only with leather. I don't like leather and now need to either get some used US seats or get my leather ones retrimmed in material :(

Going back to the earlier post about the stripes, we're better off ordering the proper stripe kits from the U.S.

Plus it looks like the best way to get the Ford Racing Exhausts are direct from US sellers.

I'm gonna end up having to get lots of stuff from the U.S. As I need to change the stupid dumbo mirrors and rear lights also.

Silver wheels are only available as part of the 'Custom pack' here. The Custom pack also includes the premium leather seats with AC as well as the soft touch door panels and accent stitching (instead of the standard 'fake' stitching). (.. and ofcourse the Sat nav, parking sensors, shaker pro etc.)

In Germany one can order the silver wheels for the base car (ie non Premium).

No mention of soft touch door panels/accent stitching or standard/premium seats in UK literature and our dealers don't seem to know any different. If this is Ford's idea of "going global" its a bit of a joke.

It was a German document I got this info from certainly. I think it's fair to say that different markets have different options. If the UK custom pack doesn't include an uprated interior then it doesn't seem to be worth the cost. Not that it affects me as I haven't ordered it...

Bloody weird that nothing more than wheels, chrome, heated seats, sensors and Sat Nav are mentioned in the UK custom pack.

You would think that if it has an upgraded interior, they'd tell us and make more money.
