Aaaaand you brought this thread back to life....
Hahaha. I didn't notice that. I'm using Tapatalk and was just scrolling and reading threads that I haven't looked at previously.

Guys i found out there is a gas station 10 mins away from my house that has 96 octane.

I realize this might be a noob question, but i never really heard of such a high octane rating from a common gas station. Is it safe/ok to run it in a stock V6?

Unless it's leaded (which I doubt it is at that low of an octane), it'd be fine, especially if tuned. You probably won't see benefits to it without being tuned, but it shouldn't mess anything up.

There's a pure gas station near me but I'm afraid to buy it. Its a Texaco station but the pump says "Not a Texaco Product" so who knows what's in it? The price wasn't bad, just about 12 cents more a gallon than 10% ethanol. But I'm wondering what pure gas would do for the V6. Has anyone used it?

Unless you're tuned for the higher octane, you're just throwing your money away. That being said, it's safe to run the fuel as long as it's unleaded.

Has anyone with an EB tested both the 87 and 93 octane fuels? If so can you notice a difference in how it feels or is the 13% power loss just something that would show up on a dyno?

Going from 310 hp to 270 hp is going to be a very noticeable difference.

Eh. 8$ per tank isn't going to break me. I'll just make lunch the next day instead of eating at a restaurant. The extra power would be worth it.

Is your 93 that much more expensive? Around here, ours is usually always $0.30 more per gallon than 87, so it's only about an extra $5 per fill up for me.

I agree. I'll just pack one day and have the powa, haha!
