Maybe under "new math" LOL
Your right, new math at it's finest !

Through the Troubled Asset Relief Program the US Treasury invested a total $51 billion into the GM bankruptcy. Until December 10, 2013, the U. S. Treasury recovered $39 billion from selling its GM stake.

Now back to our regularly scheduled program…….

Now the only E0 I can get is 87 or race gas at 110
In our state we can only get 91 (10% ethanol) and regular is 85 (10% ethanol); the ethanol free gas is only 89 (intended for small engines with carburetors). You don't ever want to run ethanol gas in small engines like mowers, pressure washers, generators, etc. because while they run ok if you store it without draining the carb first, the fuel bowl will eventually end up with water droplets after the gas evaporates causing rust that clogs the jets (ask me how I know) preventing the engine from starting until you tear the carb apart and clean it all out.

I will give you that. Can anyone provide dyno results that conclusively show that Gen 6 Mustangs produce more power using 93 vs. 91? I would be interested in seeing if the system can tell the difference and advance timing to do so. I am not disagreeing with you. I am more interested in if the car is smart enough.
6 octane points made a very noticeable difference in power as where I used to live had 87 regular and 93 premium and it cut 1.1 seconds on the 0-60 run (using the built-in track timer) so I would imagine that 2 octane points should make a difference as well though you may not see much using the track timer, of course this is assuming that the 91 and 93 are actual accurate octane numbers.

You guys have drank the kool aid. All E10 does is make the cost of corn products more expensive. .

E30 and above will give a performance boost but I would hate to see that mandated.

100% pure gas is the best motor fuel for mass consumption.

Flame away

it was a sop to the corn growers to artificially give them a price-protected market that the Market has no need for and frankly rejects.

So now '93' is just what 89 with a bunch of crap (ie. ethanol) mixed in for the feelz.

And yes they ARE talking about going even deeper into the sinkhole of STUPID by upping the ratio to 20%. Because using ethanol has no externalities or deleterious effects. It's "green" and "renewable" so that's all that matters.

So, I have bought Sunoco 100LL at a station that is far to far away, but I go there on occasion. Always use Shell 93 and when I get there I top off with about 5 gallons of 100. Did the math once and I think that brings it to just a bit over 93.
I will say that the car seems to like it after about 30 or so miles of getting on it pretty hard. But, alas, I have no knowledge on how to map the actual engine performance to show proof. Hell it might just be the placebo of paying 10 bucks a gallon!

So are we talking about the 12.5 billion in 2007 that was all paid back for are we talking about a decade later, I can't follow the changing goal posts

It's funny though you left out the part where the government profited 15.3 billion from the program in total, but then what argument would you have

No kidding, the price of Doritos is absurd. I can only justify buying the king size Costco Doritos bag. At least I feel like I got a deal, I think 🤔.

But it's still half empty, no?

Ethanol fuel energy balance - Wikipedia

In order to create ethanol, all biomass needs to go through some of these steps: it needs to be grown, collected, dried, fermented, and burned. All of these steps require resources and an infrastructure. The ratio of the energy released by burning the resulting ethanol fuel to the energy used in the process, is known as the ethanol fuel energy balance (sometimes called "Net energy gain") and studied as part of the wider field of energy economics. Figures compiled in a 2007 National Geographic Magazine article [1] point to modest results for corn (maize) ethanol produced in the US: 1 unit of energy input equals 1.3 energy units of corn ethanol energy. The energy balance for sugarcane ethanol produced in Brazil is much more favorable, 1 to 8. Over the years, however, many reports have been produced with contradicting energy balance estimates. A 2006 University of California Berkeley study, after analyzing six separate studies, concluded that producing ethanol from corn uses marginally less petroleum than producing gasoline.[2

Hello; Did a quick search. I guess energy units are a way to characterize the energy ratio. Guess i would like more fundamental units such as gallons vs. gallons, but the above is what i find.

Since we have been focused on corn i guess the corn information is more relevant.
The last sentence covers things pretty well.
