161 mph in my GT350 on a 3 mile one way road, with Sport mode; kept the pace for about 30 seconds. It was intense... I'll never do it again tho... I'll re-live the experience via dash cam videos (front and rear).

146MPH I thought I was only going 110. I was trying to keep up with the last generation base 911, I was able to keep him in my sights which was crazy.

The girlfriend and I took my '17 GT down to Nashville for a long weekend. While running through one of the cities in middle IL, a few exotic cars (911 gt3rs, Lambo, McLarin, Ferrari) all passed me in the left lane. I grabbed 5th and sped up to their pace to get a few pictures. She looks at me and askes "How fast are we going?" I replied, I don't want to say because I don't want you getting upset. She smiles, and points at the GPS. Yup, 110mph cruising. we did this until they got off at an exit. Maybe 2-5 miles. Boy 75 never felt so slow........ On the way back from Nashville, a guy in a "NEW" 2018 GT passes me. Girlfriend say go get him. Well, I opened it up and was shocked that the new 460 hp GT was not any faster then my 17 GT. All the way I am going, 100....110.....120, shift, 130.......140.......just as the needle covered the 150 mark I lifted.... Yup 149 on the GPS. Fastest I have ever gone in a car. Super stable. No lift of any notice. It is scary how quiet it is at triple digits. All that craziness and I still managed 26mpg... God loves the S550!!!!

Thatā€˜s a great little account man and I thoroughly enjoyed it, kinda vicariously. Iā€™ve always wondered about that 435 vs 460 thing and Iā€™m not a bit surprised that thereā€™s no difference. Makes me feel better about the 2022s.

ā€˜21 4Runner 91mph. Not me driving

ā€˜17 supercharged c7 98 mph. Not enough road and by a police station. Not me driving. The owner of it also had a twin turbo c5, and I was unable to see the speed.

ā€˜14 F150 Ecoboost. Me driving 92mph. Not me driving was probably around 100. That was when we were passing a semi on a two lane highway. Top of 3rd and into 4th it was done just stopped at 100. It wouldnā€™t go any faster. Scary part about that happening was youā€™re trying to go as fast as possible ā€˜cause you see semiā€™s barreling toward you in the oncoming lane. Right when we moved back over it was half a second before the oncoming semi passed us. That was when we took it in to a shop understand why it wouldnā€™t pass 100. Still has issues like that today. Starts vibrating at 78. Itā€™s a fun truck though.

149 in my SRT Charger. Only for a second because I was accelerating and let off. It was still pulling hard and felt smooth and stable. 120 in my Tuned Taurus SHO for a few minutes. Only 110 in my Mustang because I'm older and wiser now. :cwl:

Right at 140 in my 65 vette convertible. Not for very long. The front bow on the top started lifting off the windshield header and it scared the $%#%! out of me. I meant to try again with the top down but never did.

Got to 152 down the back straight at VIR, ran out of puff in 5thā€¦
Before stamping on the brakes at marker 2, scrubbing over 100mph in 50 yards, ready to take the apex into the roller coaster..

Itā€™s not the speed thatā€™s the thrill.. anyone can do that. But keeping speed through a lap or track segment is where itā€™s at..!

Always liked to see what my cars would do at least once. Most memorable...

2021 Mach 1, 152 MPH then saw traffic in the distance and slowed way down.
2017 Lincoln MKZ 3.0, 150 MPH (speed limited). Amazing sleeper.
2005 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP Comp G, 149 MPH (speed limited). Another sleeper.
1978 Trans Am TA6.6, 100 plus, easily beyond the limits of the speedometer, still accelerating when hit redline.
2012 Mustang V6, 113 MPH (speed limited)
2018 F-150, 99 MPH (speed limited)
1974 Mercury Montego, averaged 82 MPH from Virginia Beach, VA to MA. Spent most of the NJ Turnpike north of 110 MPH at 2am. This was back in my early (dumb) Navy days.

Yeah, I gotta second that on the MKZ. Damn kid driving one o those being a smart a$$ pulling away from a light, driving the yellow Terminator. It had been Whippled already by that point. That damn SUV wasn't a cakewalk. A serious WTF from a Terminator owner. I had to look up the MKZ on line to see what it was. Impressive!
