You guys and gals with roads that are open and light traffic thank your lucky stars. Even more so if the smokies see it as too much work to start chasing after you.
Between the popo and the traffic and frost heaves . 122 is about it. and it did not take long to get there from the 65mph when I slammed the hammer down.

I've gone as fast as any of cars will go over the years but most memorable one was doing the Mad Max Toecutter run from Brokenhill to Cobar through outback NSW . I did 450 Kilometres in about 2 hours of pedal to the metal in my "76 hatchback SS litre Torana . Average Speed for 2 hours must have been close to 140mph in US terms , when i slowed down doing 110KPH it felt like walking pace . I did 6200 rpm in top gear with this same car with 3.00 final drive ratio for something like 270kph , my wife wasnt super happy about that one . When i get my new stang and motor is broken in i will relive that " Toecutter " run

My mistake was the " Nightrider Run " hehe , Toecutter rode a bike

Acceleration>top speed.

Go 60-150 as fast as you can, then slow down. Usually less than 10 seconds when you have decent power.

Going barrel ass over 150+mph for more than 30 seconds too often, will eventually lead to something NOT good.........

A friend has a lightly modded 2013 Mustang GT500, and it’s a beast.
First time he gave me a ride, he took it to 150.
Very stable and composed ride.
Of course it got up to speed very quickly.
He held it at 150 for a second, just to say we had been there.
Fastest car I have ever been in.

03 mustang gt, 140-145mph. Took a while to get there and car started floating. Hit one of the reflectors for lane dividers, and didn’t feel any others. I let off the gas and tried to get my @ss to let go of the seat.
2020 gt pp1, 155mph, not near as scary, but didn’t stay in it either. There was about 15years between those runs.

Blown here. Pegged out the speedometer and still had gears to blow through. Kept it going until I ran out of road about 30 seconds later. No idea how fast I was actually going but was certainly more than the speedometer's 160+.
