I had a 12 TDI Passat as well as a 13 Jetta wagon TDI. I let VW buy them both back and got more than I paid for them. The wagon especially. I drove it 3 years and put 110k miles on it and they paid me more than I originally financed :)
Ya, I bought mine in 2018, I had missed the buy back window but I really wanted a reliable and trustworthy sedan for my daily. So I took the VW diesel work, I get fantastic mileage on it. Had been a Honda and Toyota guy mostly but this sedan has been solid, and somehow seems invisible to the PD. ;-)

Mine was, it was grey and a fantastic road trip cruiser. I regularly got 700 miles to a tank of fuel. But during the buy back period, my needs in a vehicle had changed (was my ex wife's daily at that time) so I went to a hatch back. The wagon was my work vehicle, I had it tuned and deleted with a 3 inch down pipe. It was really rowdy and still got mid 40's for fuel mileage. Was my work vehicle and still incredibly fun to drive.

My 34 Ford I got from a junk yard when I was 16, 69 vett the engine had caught fire and the front end was gone so I got it cheap ($1000). 80 vett I ordered so my wife would date me, 19 Shelby without my wife knowing….🥰
My DD is shop 06 GMC work van, Wife’s cars are 15 Edge and 69 Camaro.
Still got them all, didn't drive the 34 last year. Upgrading the wife's Camaro...

Thanks John, doing my best.
Nicely done the 34
It was a body & a frame when I got it from the junk yard, a car was sitting on top of it thus causing the roof to cave in. I jacked the roof up, chopped the top 4 inches and put the SB Chevy in with the 6-71. Car has aged better than me...

I laugh, did something similar with a 32 truck. 34 best-of-breed of the decade. 6-71 dwarfs' the SB, car has the original frame?
Fun hobby, time well spent.

I’ll show off my wife’s uncle’s garage (his two hot rods anyway). The pink Nash was our limo for our wedding 20 years ago.

Yellow needs sprint-style headers & side pipes. My wife's truck has the same front rim, is that hotrod finished?

I'm also a motorcycle addict, and have a few Italian Mistresses, all from the little village of Mandello DeLario on the shore of Lake Como ;-)

It’s never really finished LOL. He did have headers and side pipes at one point. That picture was from a few years ago, when we saw him at Thanksgiving he said he was getting ready to do an engine swap but he was being coy about what he’s doing. When we talked last summer he was working on a 427, so I’m thinking that’s what he’s dropping in there. He said I had to wait until he’s done before he tells me 🤷🏻‍♂️

edit to add: he’s constantly swapping engines, this is like the 5th or 6th one since I’ve known him over the last 25 years. Always looking for something better, or at least to tinker with

True enough, my coupe has a 4" channel. The body sits over the frame, not on top of it.

Besides my 2022 2.3L HPP+HP, my garage & driveway include:

- 2020 Escape Hybrid Titanium in Velocity Blue: the “44mpg, does everything, goes anywhere, perfect for the teenagers to drive” car. Leased it right before COVID hit, bought it for cheap at the end.

- 2022 Chrysler Pacifica Limited AWD in Fathom Blue (think dark teal; it’s stunning): because my wife and I have four kids and one enormous Great Pyrenees. Faithful travel companion on family vacation adventures and college move-ins. Don’t knock the minivan. It’s our second Pacifica and fourth overall following a Town & Country (pretty decent) and a Honda Odyssey (absolute garbage).

- And “The Queen”, 2011 Mustang GT Premium Convertible. Race Red over Brick Red/Cashmere. Has Boss 302 front/rear lower valances and rear wheels spats, dealer invoiced and installed. The “warm, sunny days” toy that gets driven maybe 1,500mi a year. One of four built according to Marti, likely one of one when the accessories are factored in. Which of course is meaningless to probably everyone but me, but she’s my baby forever and is so pampered that my kids started calling her “The Fifth Child.” 🤣

Just picked up this CX-50 a couple weeks ago. Was tempted to get the turbo but couldn't justify the extra money seeing as it's the new family/wife's car, and I already have my toy lol so ... Really liking it though. Handles great for what it is and better looking than the Honda CRV and Toyota RAV4 in my opinion. And NO CVT transmission thankfully. Now I just have to finish up de-chroming the exterior.

Besides the Mustang, there’s my 2017 F150 XLT 2.7, my wife’s 2014 Audi Q5(too boring to picture) and a couple dirt toys.
If I had to keep just one vehicle, it would have to be this truck. It does everything I need it to do very well, and has taken me and the wife on lots of adventures that wouldn’t have been possible without it. I’ve always had great luck with Ford trucks, and this little turbo powered one is no exception.
