Well, if not the emergency release, it’s the secondary release that I access about halfway up the outside bolster of the left side rear seat, and use the key from the fob to open the trunk with. I don’t think the coupes have that because the rear seats fold and you can reach in and pull the handle.

That has to be convertible specific; my prior 2016 coupe did not have it and current 2018 coupe does not have it.

.......All I can tell you is my car has the same trunk emergency release handle, and does NOT have that ugly cable........
All I can tell you is to check the locations of where those cars were bought/sold, that have it.
