I loved my Ford Performance Touring Axle backs by Borla until I made a trip to the Upper Peninsula and back. About 1,100 miles mostly highway.

I noticed a drone at highway speeds and the exhaust becoming much louder.

I looked online on Mustang6g.com and found a link where a fellow posted a video. Very nice. Also posted was a link to David at Borla. So, on Saturday I sent an email and amazingly I got one back that morning! The responder said Borla would get a hold of me on Monday to fix the problem.

That said, I went under the car at idle and found a hole on each muffler under the inlet pipe. It was blowing a lot of exhaust and making a weird noise. When I put my finger over it, the sound stopped. So, I'm thinking these ABs might have a problem. If it was a drain hole, would it do this? Very weird.

Has anyone else ever encountered this?

I have the same exhaust and have noticed the same things you describe. I'm not very happy with the in-car highway drone or the weird noise at idle. I'm considering getting a Corsa axle back or cat back but really don't want to waste the $800 I spent on the Ford Borla system.

Interesting, as i have the same system. I have not paid attention or heard the noise you described, but i will listen more closely to it and see if mine is making the same noise that you hear.

If the hole is small like 1/8" or smaller they are drain holes and are supposed to be there.

Post a pic of said holes.

They are drain holes. With the car running, they made a weird noise unless you converted the hole with your finger. One on the top and one on the bottom. The new set send by Borla did not make the noise.

So Borla sent you a net set of axle-backs to be put on?

They look just like the holes on the new ones. The old ones are already boxed up and ready for FedEx.
