updated the SYNC 3 using the CYANLABS updater. 2018 ECO. That went smooth. the SYNC sees the android auto, but no WAZE.. The phone is an ANDROID, connected by USB. What am i doing wrong? Or how do i get it to work?

I believe it is a Google problem. Waze quit working on my Honda after the latest Google updates.

I've seen this happen for the following reasons and in order of likelihood

waze app on phone needs an update
Android auto needs an update
phone needs a reboot
USB lead issues
unpair phone, remove phone from sync memory, power cycle and reconnect phone like your first time

wait until the 3rd full moon and repeat all because sometimes sync or android or both are just being assh**es :)

I agree. Uninstall waze and reinstall. You need most current version of waze to work on 3.4

As far as I know, you can only get waze to show up on the screen when connected via USB
Yeah, our cars don't have wireless AA or ACP, so you have to use a USB cable. It's just coming out on some new cars.

OT but there was a kickstarter or crowd funded box that was a bluetooth to hardwire convertor you would install in your car and it allowed your phone to connect via bluetooth and present the connection as a USB connection to the car

saw it poo up a few times but not sure if it ever got traction

I remember reading about it a while back but don't think I heard much afterwards.
