Just out of curiosity, why are so many people running a boost-a-pump or voltage booster with stock in tank fuel pumps vs running an aftermarket in tank pump like a Walbro/TI Automotive? Even most of the forced induction kits come with boost-a-pump vs an in tank pump replacement. The higher quality BAPs like the Kenne Bell or JMS are $300-$400 while you can pick up a Walbro for $150-$200. Installation difficulty is pretty simple with either choice so I was just wondering why so meany people running BAPs?

Boost- a-pump on Stock pump will flow a ton more than the 465 pump. Even without BAP a stock pump flows 90% of the 465 when using the stock basket. The output line size is the restriction when putting in a 465.

You cannot simply install the Walbro pump to the stock fuel pump housing.

The stock pump has second output barb that provides fuel pressure to a pair of venturi jet pumps for in-tank fuel transfer. Aftermarket pumps do not feature this smaller secondary output. Could you custom machine a T fitting and screw around with hoses? Ya probably.

But the stock pump is no slouch anyway. It's a Delphi turbine pump and I will bet you that it's output is very similar to the Walbro 450/465/485 or whatever you like to call it.

Im not sure what the GT350 pumps are good for. Im talking about on a stage 2 procharger, to go E85. Cheapest route is Sai Li return system (~$950). Im wondering if simply running the GT500 dual pumps and 1000cc injectors on a returnless system. Or maybe the dual GT350 is they supply the same as the GT500 pumps.

Just curious, has anyone looked further into the GT350 pumps and what they are capable of? Is this truly a drop in pump for GT owners?

Is there less of a failure rate with replacement pumps over a BAP?

Talk to your tuner.
I know Lund WILL NOT tune for E85 without a return style system.
