vs GT4, Eclipse, G8

So my work group has become a pretty decent bed of competition in the car department. We have a fella with a 93 Eclipse that is still a mystery as to how quick it is, we have a Porsche Cayman GT4 (so nice), and a guy I haven't met yet, due to work travel, has a G8 with a 50 or 100 or 200 shot NO2 (he doesn't know... which makes him an easy target for trash talk).

We are in germany so on an early sunday morning, we have 5 lanes of empty, no speed limit road to do what we want. First, I have the GTPP with JLT CAI, Lund Tune and 3inch catback. He is stock. He things I'm going to pull him, but I think it will be pretty close. What would be some good safe runs to make, speed wise (mph) 40 - 100? 50 - 130? At the track, we'll run the 1/4, any thoughts? I figure on a driver's race.

Then, How quick are the G8s in fact? If he's stock with a 50 shot, I think I might take him.. 100 would be tough.

Alright, In reference to the forum rules: This is legal, I'm asking advice on safe speeds, and the race hasn't happened so it is a hypothetical. Hopefully that keeps it from being considered street racing.

I would GoPro it, so if anyone's interested in seeing what happens, I'll post a link.

i knew a guy a while back when i first had my srt-4 had an eclipse which uses the same 4g63 as the Evos but he had alot of work done and was like at 500hp , so it depends. Oh also if its a GSX it has awd

Depends which G8, the V6, V8, or 6.2

If he has the V6, you'll get him. The V8, you might get him as the gearing/weight is bad. The 6.2 he should smoke you with even a 50 shot.

To follow up on this, the weather was finally nice enough. Ran the gt4 from 50 to 140. He jumped at first and pulled him in and had about a car length by 140.

The reason he pulled on you at the beginning is because u were on 3rd gear going 45 mph! A lund tune with rpm cut off set to 7000+ rpm should give you up to 62+ mph on second gear with 3.73's. Nice kill though.

My cutoff is at 7k and I figured I'd save a shift. We would have gone a few more times but there was a bit too much traffic. Seems it would have worked out either way.

The Mustang GT will handily whoop the 6.2 g8 stock and modded.

But NOS is a whole different ball game. Even a 50 shot.

It won't make a magazine comparison, but it's got four wheels and a gas pedal... good enough for me.

On another note.. there's a fella with a gen 5 Camaro that claims 460 whp with intake, tune, LT.. haha.. I really want to run him. Somehow those mods gave him 100 hp There's a new charger scat pack in the group now, so we'll see about that too. Unfortunately I might not get to these guys while I have the gt, and the gt350 should take them all without much trouble.

Have you seen what some of those built DSMs can do? Not much of a huge aftermarket for them anymore but there was a time when a built one would embarrass almost anything.

Back in the day when first Fast And Furious came out lol. They were a pretty big deal. A modded eclipse is such a classic and fun car.

Modded G8's are deceptively fast. They respond to mods well, especially cam swaps.

I had a '98 GS-T (lots of bolt-ons) and loved that thing. Yes, that 4G63 can make a lot of power when properly modded. That said, I took it out against my brand new '03 Mach 1 when I first got it and they were neck and neck.

You should pull the Charger rather easily. The Camaro will be interesting if he really puts down that much power. Looking forward to the results!
