Voltage gauge readouts

Hi All, just wondering what readouts you get from your voltage gauge whilst driving, mine fluctuate from 12v to 14v on throttle overrun where it seems to be strongest. I have had the battery checked and i am told it is sound and i thought the voltage may have been the reason my Active exhaust is reverting to inactive after startup but that appears to be another problem and, although my exhaust is untouched, no threads on here seem to have a definite fix for the problem ( unless its the connections which have remained untouched too ).
Anyway what do your gauges read whilst driving everyday i'd be interested to know , thanks.

These cars have active battery management, it changes charging voltage based on driving conditions. Speed, load, RPM, decel versus accel, amount of load on the charging system, etc. So what you're seeing is pretty normal. My car will show anywhere from like 12.9v to 14.8 depending on conditions. At night with the lights on it will sit higher since the lights use a lot of juice.

Mine are anywhere from 12 to 14.5V. Funny thing is it would always be stable with the stock battery. I switched to AGM and see the differences.......which is normal esp for an agm battery.

Did you do the battery relearn when you made the switch? Just wondering if the charging system thinks it's dealing with and older battery and that's causing the change.

Mine does the same swings and did not change when I put a new battery in last week. I did reset the BMS system and no change. I used an OEM Motorcraft replacement.

I think it just means your stock battery was on its way out and wasn't fully charging. Once the battery charges fully that's when you get the fluctuations. At least that's what I've figured out from my messing around.

Yea the bms was reset and system was even checked. I was told even by Odyssey its normal.

I think it just means your stock battery was on its way out and wasn't fully charging. Once the battery charges fully that's when you get the fluctuations. At least that's what I've figured out from my messing around.

It was that way since day 1 I owned the car.

Well finally went to the dealer as it needed an aoil change to keep up the warranty requirements and i needed the active exhaust problem looked at. They said they found a fault code , reset it and now the AE works as it should. I also noticed on the long drive home the voltage gauge sat on 14V without variation, absolutely rock steady no matter what the throttle position, so i will see how it goes when i get the chance to drive it.
