I agree with everyone here that it’s the driving modes and tc. Mine is an auto but it will barely let the tires spin in sport+. If you want them to light up put the car in track mode with tc completely off.

If car is still bogging down then ya take it to the dealer.

Ok so after work tonight I turned off the Traction Control for 10 seconds and got the message on the dash that Advancetrac was off. I revved the motor to 4k and let out the clutch. It still started to bog a little but then I guess because the rpm's were so high it kicked in and the tires spun till I let off the gas. Seems like a lot of effort compared to my previous car. I'm still gonna take it to Ford as I don't think this is normal. I will let you all know what I find out. Thanks for all your input.
Can't wait to hear what they say. I'm guessing the response will be "That's normal" or "They all do that."

No, my man, Quite the contrary. What your guy just described there is exactly what should happen when revving to 4K and dumping the clutch, otherwise known as…….A burnout. Which, I believe, is what his intentions were in the first place.

Similar experience with my 2015 GT 6m with 3.55. If I turn everything off I can easily spin first and second from a roll but if I let off the clutch like normal and floor it from a dig in a straight line it just goes fast, maybe some wheel hop but never a big smokey burnout like I'd expect. I've had the car for a couple of years now and don't worry about it any more but this bothered me at first since I bought it used and was concerned it had a problem. I always just chalked it up to the general lack of low-end torque. I've never tried a 4k clutch drop...I'm sure that'd do the trick but with 70k on the original clutch I'm a bit more gentle than some of you guys with newer cars and fewer miles need to be 😆

With this thread in mind I went driving today to see what I felt with my GT 6 speed. I tried to take off normally in Sport+ with traction on and with a mind to burnout. I got it to slip a little and first and barked it in second. This took little effort. When I put in a lot of effort, trying to get it to cut loose, it definitely did and squaked in 2nd a little. I tried it 3 times. It definitely let loose without too much effort. I have 20" rims, Michellin Pilot Sport 4s (295 rear, 275 front) and it cuts loose a little every time I focus on it. They grip and don't peel out when I'm just trying to take off fast. I then turned off traction and it got a little squirrely (need more practice with traction off).

I don't think there is a built in issue with the 6 speed or GT, I could be wrong or it's just mine, but mine acts the way you'd expect American muscle to act. My 2 cents, I'm willing to try something else to contribute to testing, but I think I would take mine back to the dealer with some questions if mine behaved the way you described.

Sounds like a good way to have some techs joyride and beat the shit out of your car to tell you nothing is wrong.

They are just like this man, you have to drive them like you stole it in order to get the car loose. It's not an old fox body, which was very loose and felt fast because of it. Its the opposite, feels slower because it gets such decent traction. Now, on the contrary don't get carried away and forget that it can still get away from you when you're least expecting it like 2nd gear if the tires are bad, cold damp etc.

The best way for a GT to break loose is to get it near a crowd of people :)
