A new attack vector. Pretty cool. By physically inserting themselves at the lighting interface, they place themselves inside the car's network. No need for hacking security at that point. Just send a few frames of data to unlock and/or start the car.

It's been a few years, but similar attacks (proven) and concerns were expressed about gaining access to an aircraft's internal control systems.

This is why I crusaded for years to have companies and government agencies keep their critical data on mainframes. The operating system and language architecture does not facilitate hacking of any kind.
