shouldn't the app be able to do that without an add on?

Depends on whether whatever you bought includes bluetooth/gps etc or not.

I got just pipes and a remote functionality initially. Not sure how they package this these days.

How’s the setup? I bought the new non-res midpipe and never installed the one you have. I always wanted to be louder and this new midpipe was great

Install went OK, had to get a piece welded to slip over the cat pipes.
Would be much easier with a second set of hands.
Hopefully no leaks, will see in a few days... wish I had the smart box, but the remote action seems OK

glad things went ok. The remote grows on you. I bought the switch, but have not found a proper place for it. I was shooting for the temp sensor panel, right of the steering wheel, but the switch is too long to fit.

What kind of a switch are you talking about? I'd prefer a switch ta remote.

VK05, plugs directly into the varex wiring.
https://xforceusa.com/products/vk05/

Simple 3 way switch, but plugs directly into the wires, removing the varex box, so it is really plug and play. It is larger/longer than I thought.

I have one and I'm still looking for a great spot to install. Like I said, I was shooting for the ambient air temp grille panel, to the right of the steering wheel, but there is not enough room. And I don't want to cut up my center console.

This switch is not subtle. I've seen a youtube videoof someone using a usual switch ... You just need to know how to connect one.

But remote is honestly just fine.

I've had the Xforce Varex oval mufflers installed two weeks ago and I'm very happy with the ability to go from quieter than stock to race car and everything in between. Totally amazed how each increment sounds so different. Closed vs. 25%, 50% 75% and 100% open - all distinctly different.

I have another brand (Australian Pacemaker) of long tube headers into 3" with central resonators and the Varex rears. Using the smart box and still playing with this but seems very neat.
