Another poster mentioned it what about the insurance? I know you said you will let them know, but I don't think they are going to see the same value you did. I am with the majority on this one, while it might seem fun I think swapping a coyote into an older car would be a much cooler project. An SN95 or New Edge with a coyote would be one hell of a cool project.

The cost to perform this swap with the appropriate electronics/engine management, driveline, cooling, braking, suspension etc, upgrades will be prohibitively expensive.
The car would never be worth the money invested in it.
It would be a money pit.
But hey, if you have the financial and mechanical resources...go for it.
It would be a great learning experience.

This reminds me of a saying my dad has about life, which is that you're either having fun, or learning something.

I think a Cyclone to Coyote swap would 99% likely fall into the latter category.:headbonk:

This thread actually made me think about an idea I had regarding the most fun you could have with the new S550 platform for the least $. In CA, it's possible to find an ex-rental V6 2015 for $18K or less, then you could buy most of the PP suspension / chassis / rolling stock upgrades (used takeoffs from forum members) for $2K or so. Tuner and a cheap axle-back plus brake pads and fluid change for another $750 or so.

This would give you a modern, good-looking, trackable 3500lb 300+hp car for under $21K.

That's pretty awesome. I've got twice that into my car, and I don't think it's twice as fun as that would be...

You can pick up a brand new 16 V6 for 19-20k without really having to search.

From someone who had V6 then a GT... just save the money and do it right the first time. TRUST ME, patience will pay off.

I remember thinking this way when I bought my first Subaru oh so many years ago. The WRX had just come out and was spendy, my dad is the frugal type (somewhat) and was telling me to just buy the cheaper 2.5RS and put a turbo on it later. Doing research on that end showed that it opened a veritable Pandora's box of issues. You could turbo the EJ25 pretty easily, but guys were constantly having issues with them, particularly as daily drivers.

In the end my grandpa told me "don't screw around, just get the one you want, you will be happier in the long run" and guess what, I was. I've kept that philosophy ever since and it's never let me down. Yeah, it's more expensive, but the trouble and headaches I've saved are worth it.
