I didn't buy the GT because at the time the real price difference was about $10k. That is too much for just a bigger engine, better brakes. and a few cosmetic bits. To upgrade from the base V6 to the 5.0 on a F150 XLT it is < $2k.
Same thing for me when I bought mine...a 10k price difference. Far to much money for 135 hp

What a lot of people don't do, is look into every single discount available. Make sure you do that! I got my V6 for $23,300 OTD (yup, including taxes, dealer's fee, tag, the whole shabang) brand new! The student and off-lease discounts really helped, and some of my friends who got fords around the same time didn't even know about them!

The v6 has incredible price for what it is...I know some people driving around in civics that paid very close to that price^

I could have gotten a base for 22 but they had a fully loaded one for 25000

I got mine for 23K OTD as well. Such a steal for what the V6 offers. Absolutely love it.

Holding out for a twin turbo kit though.....

^Looked for a wrecked 3.5 Ecoboost F150 and get the motor. Motor mounts are likely the same and you would have the Ecoboost Ford should have made.

The 3.7 is just a stroked 3.5 with some revisions for higher boost but the 3.7 is plenty strong for the 8psi the Procharger runs at

Oh I know, that is why I went with it. That combined with how cheap junk yard V6 motors are make this a great motor to boost. However 8 PSI is about max on 93 octane pump gas. To go more I would need to switch to E85. And trust me, you always want more......

Supersixmotorsports have been running 12psi no problem on 93.

They probably are backing WAY off on timing then. Either that or maybe they have some VCT magic but my tuner saw knock at only 8psi.
