It's funny how everyone says that the V6 will be the rental fleet car, but in my area at almost any Enterprise, if they have a Mustang, it's been and EcoBoost. But this is just from what I've seen so that doesn't count for much.
But I agree, the market for our car is slow. It's slowly picking up, so it seems our only option is patience
That has been my experience as well..

The only V6 rentals I've seen are all convertibles. All the fastback rentals I've seen are Ecoboost base and premiums.

The Miami Police have asked the rental car companies to not rent GT Mustangs because they cannot catch those speeding German tourists in Coyote powered Mustangs.:eyebulge: No just kidding! Rental cars rent the V-6 powered Mustangs for one reason only...to make money! Low initial cost, low maintenance costs, and high reliablity and resale is why the Cyclone powered rental cars are very profitable as rental units.:clap2:
I imagine they make a killing with the V6 and ecoboost cars on resale. With the rates most of these companies charge these things are probably paid for in a year or year and a half. Any resale value is just icing on top. I would never buy one from them though, theyre probably beaten to within an inch of their life everyday

I also was interested in this engine cover. It's something at least. If there's one thing I hate about the V6, it's that the engine is such an ugly hulk. Even my base model Dodge Stealth had nice aluminum intake runners. Plastic intake? Yuk! I would add a Roush intake and that will help, but there has to be some other bits to add. Any ideas?

The v6 market should pick up. I was at an auto auction last week and there were about 20-30 V6 Mustangs on transporters that would be auctioned off to dealers. They're getting ready for Spring I guess. These must be rental fleet 2015's that are being sold. People will buy them I'm sure especially as they will cost sooo much less than a new one and they're easy to keep, upgrade and maintain. I still want an Engine dress up kit for our stands, so hopefully as the market expands with V6's coming off rental fleets and being solve privately- we should start seeing more stuff come out specifically for our cars.

I did; picked up my Ford certified 2015 vert in April for $25K :D

She had 24K miles on her, but the Ford cert extends the B2B warranty for an additional 12 months/12,000 miles.

I do wish some more stuff was available for our cars, I'd like a STB and a few other things.

I've only found the radiator overflow tank cover, master cylinder cover and those billet strut tower screw on pieces.
Not sure I want the fluid caps and oil dip stick handle,199.00 for 5 pieces seems to much but being mines red that red running horse on each cap would look nice.
Not sold on the fuse cover yet,to much $.
Would like to find a strut brace.

Brand new 2015 V6 vert with 51A package in TY is around $32K; paying $25K saved me $7K.

It was a toss up between the 1 year old vert and a brand new hardtop; I went with the vert.

Still nothing out there for our V6's engine bays. No covers that I can find anyway. I had hoped by now someone would've designed something. I'm guessing that this V6 will be gone next year so maybe that's why nothing's being done.

^^^Hold on Podner, don't be so sure that the Cyclone motor is going anywhere. I've heard of it's demise for 3 years now. I bought my 2015 Cyclone vert new with all the options offered for $27,500...a true bargain I'd say. And yes, I do wish there was more aftermarket items for the Cyclone Pony.

Id like to agree with you, but since you can no longer get the 051A package on the V6 coupe (only on the convertible now) I'm afraid that spells the death of this model for the Mustang. Maybe it will soldier on as a basic entry model , but with the new 10speed auto , I don't think it will make it to the 2018 Refresh. I'm thinking the Eco will become the base model and a Eco V6 will become the middle model with the V8 still the top dog. Ford has to answer Chevy and produce as many models at least as their Camaro counterpart so they can offer true choices to their GM rival.

The 3.7 Cyclone is a low cost "workhorse" engine used throughout tha Ford and Lincoln lineup. And besides, never underestimate the role and influence of the corporate " bean counters" in which engines are offered. I'm betting the Cyclone engine remains...if only to appease the rental car companies. I'm waiting for the return of the Mach I, but until then I really like my no-fuss, low cost vert. I just returned from an 1,800 mile road trip through the Rockies...cruised the mountains and averaged 30.1 MPG topless. I must have gotten a great Cyclone motor I'd say.

Truly a great motor in my particular config at least. From 5k rpm it just sprints up to 7K. However, stock mufflers ruin the operation. Car has been flawless so far @ 10K miles/2 summers. Far beyond expectations.

I agree with you, I love mine as well. I'm just talking realities with Ford. It MAY stay on with the rental fleet but I truly doubt it. Once they took away the power seat, foglights and 18 inch wheels from the coupe it seems to me that they are looking to end the attractiveness to purchase the V6. Buyers want some creature comforts, heck I'm making my car into a premium version by eventually adding leather and the upgraded sound system/display. If they had offered a premium package back in 2015, I think the Ecoboost wouldn't have sold well at all.
