How about when you open the door. It cracks the window, then when you close it, it rolls it back up. Can that be defeated? That's a lot of wear on the motor.

Yes, it is to create a door frame to hold the window in. Plenty of cars have had this feature since the 1990's. Motor wear is a non-issue unless you try to make it one and quit your job to stress test the doors. ;)Wvmike, I do not believe that feature can be disabled nor do I think it should be. If you watch the window, it comes down slightly and then AFTER the door is shut it rolls back up under the window molding. If the window was left up all the way it would hit the molding as you close the door. I experienced this issue once when my battery died on my 07 Stang, as it has the same feature. In addition this feature is used to create a tight seal between the glass and weatherstripping. As stated my 07 Stang has the same feature, and I am still running on the original window motor.
Global opening is extremely useful for summertime -- you can open the windows and let the car ventilate itself without having to face that blast-furnace of hot air coming out.It seems like having global close would be more useful than global opening. It's odd they only gave us half of the equation.
This is a common feature on "frameless" coupe doors as my 2010 genesis coupe also had it. If i remember correctly, bmw 840/850 coupes in the 90‘s were first to have this feature. How about when you open the door. It cracks the window, then when you close it, it rolls it back up. Can that be defeated? That's a lot of wear on the motor.
My 06 has this feature.Wonder if my 2011 GT has the same feature ?
thanks for the input. Ill try it later on today. My 06 has this feature.

I saw the windows go down, but never saw them go back up. Did they?Quick search turned this up of one of our own.. I removed the post regarding my fusions behavior.
No. They go down only.I saw the windows go down, but never saw them go back up. Did they?
Nah, the Fusions come with the ability to roll windows up or down. I really hope they add this to the Mustang within the next model year or two. I put the windows up with my key fob way more than I put them down.I agree it would be useful to have up and down. I'm sure it's for security purposes. Imagine a child sitting in the car and by mistake you press and hold the fob in your pocket and the windows close. It's 100 out. Oh no! Ford's fault??
Actually, I think that is new to the Mustang.Did you also know if you tap your turn signal it blinks 3 times?
....that will be a new thread soon.
