Hi, I am new to the forum.

I just purchased a 2017 gt 350 lightning blue with convenance package with 11,800 miles. The gt 350 was a late 2016 build and was originally purchased in early 2017. The vehicle was just traded in to a Chevrolet dealership 2 weeks ago for a corvette and then a New Hampshire ford dealer bought the gt 350 from the chevy dealer. The car fax checked out to be clean. The test drive went well. I really climbed all over the inside and outside. The inside appeared to be very clean for 2 years old and the outside seems very good as far as scratches and so forth. There are a few very light scratches, but I know my detail guy can get them out, as I will have a clear bra and application of crystal serum ultra applied to the paint. The other thing that impressed me was all the original goodies that came with the car are with it ie; model flat plane crank, car cover, and the gift pack from ford.

I paid $ 47,450.00 before tax and title plus they included removing the white stripe, delivering the gt 350 to my house in a enclosed carrier, detail the gt 350, and remove one small coffee stain that was on the passenger side seat.

My gt 350 has 10 months of remaining factory warranty left and it is CPO ford certified. One question I have is should I run the gt 350 for 10 months under the factory warranty and CPO or purchase a 100,000 mile 8 year platinum warranty now for $ 2600.00. I will not operate that car without a warranty after the 10 months and the warranty they offered me as of the condition it is in as of right now is a full bumper to bumper for 8 years or 100,000 miles of coverage, and it is refundable at any time. Just curious what current owners of gt 350's are doing about warranties and is the factory warranty I have for the remaining 10 months a full bumper to bumper warranty. Is there any advantage to purchasing the extended warranty before the factory warranty runs out ?

The other thing I was wondering about is should I have bought a new/left over 2018 for $ 10,000.00 to $ 11,000.00 more. The best I could do on a 2018 was $ 57,000.00, but then I had another $ 2000.00 in shipping. I saved $ 10,000.00 on what appears to be a solid used GT 350, but did I make a mistake ? I have signed the paperwork, but I have yet to mail the check in.

I am very excited, but nervous at the same time. I am excited to be part of the forum and look forward to any advice from experienced gt 350 owners. Don't be afraid to tell me the truth, you won't hurt my feelings.

Thank you.

Theres a 2017 one white/ blue at Mel Hambelton Ford in Wichita that you have to call to get price if looking for one. The thing is it was my car bought new. I didn't trade it there but in Parsons Ks. to GM and bought a new truck. I'm 73 years old. That car has only got 4,635 miles and I got it in March 2017 from Ford dealership here who located it for me then. Has only been driven any distance out of town 40 miles one way once. Never driven past 4,000 rpm and therefore don't know what a track is. It was hard to find cause it has the leather heated/cooled power seats for my old butt. Nothing wrong with car at all just wanted to go back to a truck and the GM owner is a friend and made me a good deal. Like I said don't know what they actually want for it. Was always kept in carport and covered. Hope it goes to a good home. It still smelled new inside even after almost 2 years since driven very little.

My car is an early 17 and probably about the same age as yours. When I bought it (used - low miles) the Ford dealer thought it was ineligible for any extended warranty plans. That was OK with me - I'm not a big believer in them anyway. I am hoping if the AC decides to go out as seems to be frequent with Mustangs, it happens before then.

Did they tell you why it was not eligible? I have 7k on my 2017 with a year left on the 3/36 and planned to buy an extended Ford warranty from Ziegler (or another company after shopping around) and am curious.

Don't hold me to it but I also bought an extended warranty from Ziegler (they prorated reimbursed me money back after trading car) But I kind of think to be eligible you had to do it within the first year of ownership.

I know that from insuring my 2008 GT 500, which I did after all warranties were up, they had to do an inspection and test drive even though it has only 10k miles.

I got a quote and emailed them for confirmation. According to all I saw they exclude GT500 KR and any “Shelby modified vehicle “ which ours are not

Not for nothing but down the road if you are intent on trying to help getting it sold, you might avoid telling folks you never bumped it past 4,000.....that’s a liability not an asset.

I sent Ziegler an email with my VIN and asked them if the car qualified for the extended warranty, The responded that it was.
Just my experience.

I wasn't trying to help get it sold I don't know the dealership and will be no benefit to me if they sell it or not. I guess I was thinking more of if some one was looking for a 17 that was hardly driven and never driven hard it would be a good find if price turned out right. Thanks

It's up to you on the warranty, but I don't buy extended warranties. If anything goes after the 3/36K bumper to bumper and then 5/60K powertrain, I just fix it. I only bought a 2018 because I wanted a specific color and couldn't find a used one anywhere with the options I wanted. I did get the price well below MSRP so I'm happy with the choice.

No, and since I was not interested at the time, I did not question him. Since I've been monitoring this forum I've decided he obviously didn't know what he was talking about.

So the warranty offered is B to B 100k miles 8yrs. Is that on paper?. If it is indeed a B to B coverage then get it. $2600 is not a bad price.
Yes the coverage they offered me is a 8 year/100,000 miles coverage bumper to bumper that kicks into effect from when I purchase the policy so it will overlap the 10 months I have remaining on the factory 3 year/36,000 mile warranty. I agree with you and I think I will purchase it now because I only have 10 months remaining on the factory warranty and I am not owning the GT 350 without a warranty.

I was just a little hesitant because I thought I might wait until the factory warranty runs out, but it could cost me more to purchase it 10 months from now.
