I had a 2017 GT350 that I was not kind to. Nothing like a car screaming at 8500 rpm’s in 1st and 2nd gear and it’s just wanting more. It is a drivers car, you will feel the car, it’s not numb, and it’s exciting. Even being 2017 and the engine blows from oil starvation it can still get replaced under warranty. The numbers are low but the percentage was high enough to cause concern with ford to take care of the gt350 owners. If it was me again, I’d have no problem buying another 2017 and it’s easy to do a piston/ rod drop in with tighter ring tolerances (if keeping NA). If there is oil consumption just keep an eye on it to prevent oil starvation which is where the fun happens. Also, replace the valve covers with GT500 ones as the gt350 covers are prone for leaking.
It's an oil consumption issue on some of the voodoos -- that can lead to boom if the oil gets low. I have a 2017, not used to checking oil frequently. Discove
I'll chime in here. I bought a 2017 GT350 new and payed sticker (which was hard to do at the time). After 5 years (yes...Im out of warranty), the car has been flawless and continues to run STRONG. Zero issues after 13K. I cant bring myself to sell it due to the endless smiles it provides. Dont let them tell you the gen 1 engines are problematic, as they are not. Car uses almost no oil. Good luck. If you get a 350, you will not be sorry.
If it doesn't burn oil, you won't have issues. IF it burns oil and you don't keep checking it, it may blow. The issue is oil consumption, not durability.

A Ford dealership has the ability to certify a car they sell. CPOs come with a 7 year and 100,000 mile warranty. You can extend that by buying a warranty. So a 17, if CPO, would have another year of powertrain and bumper to bumper.

If the car consumed large amounts of oil, it probably would have been in the oasis and an engine swap would probably already been accomplished.

If the price was right, I'd seriously consider the car.
Ask if engine was swapped. Ask for service records.

I’m another 2017 original owner. Mine is a later build ‘17 with the cartridge oil filter. I’ve had it 6 years as of today and 34,xxx miles without any serious issue other than the oil pressure sender leak, which is a well known and a warranty fix. Uses minimal oil and runs beautifully. No track days but many, many rips to redline. Have not regretted it at all. I did buy an extended factory warranty mainly due to all the stories but it has been good piece of mind and I do plan to extend it further. It’s mainly the end of an era and a fabulous car. I use is as a daily and don’t hesitate to take it on long trips. Been a great car and expect it to continue so.
