Is the upr better just because of the check valve? Boomba looks pretty nice and about 100 cheapers. Also has anyone proven them to be even needed consider this tear down on a ecoboost (different engine i know)

I mean at this point it seems the there isnt one catch can that actually fixes the smoke problem without touching the PCV. Debating putting this off until someone comes out with something that addresses the real problem. Link below on the tear down another member on here provided me, good read.

The catch can isn't to fix the smoking problem, it's to keep deposits out of the intake tract.

The smoking problem is secondary and is caused by the small PCV. The current fix essentially replaces the small PCV with a larger surrogate (catch can).

Two for one if you ask me.

I can't stand the smoke and smell. Catch can will be delivered tomorrow.

LOL. Smoke is mainly an issue for ppl with aftermarket downpipes. Reason number 2 I don't have one. I do plan to get a catch can on though, but I'm stuck between catch can or bov as the next mod

I have a downpipe and luckily my car is not smoking yet and it's been on for nearly 4000 miles.

My '16 is 1005 stock and it smokes after 20 or so minutes of idle time. Ford knows there is a issue but doesn't have fix.:frusty:

Running boomba catch can and boomba check valve. Smoke free after PCV gut.

which side are you running and where did you install their check valve. Its a totally seperate piece correct?

if he is running a check valve, it's the PCV side
the vent side of the valve cover is not pressurized

I think it's a bad idea in general to have your car idling for 20mins

Yea idk which one is more common, ppl with smoke or ppl without it after a dp. I don't want the smell or cost either though unless I was certain I'd get at least 10-15hp.

I have the Mishimoto catch can, it was a nice simple install with an OEM like fit. I've had it on for over 3k miles. I check it now every 1k miles and I get maybe two tblspoons of oil, so it is working.
