I actually think that was intended as a shot at the warmer parts of the country, not as a shot against retired people. Retired people are just the ones smart enough to live where ice is found more often in a drink than on the ground :headbang:
As someone who was born and raised in Southern New England, (Western MA) I decided when a reached "52 Winters Old) that I had enough of de-icer, ice scrapers, running noses, wool rash & chap lips and headed to the Tropics. I too agree, Ice belongs in a Cocktail Glass, (not) on your Windshield, Door Jams, or hanging from your Eaves Troughs. Cold Beer and Central Air Conditioning coupled with employing a good Pest Control Co solves most of your problems. Adding "fold away Hurricane Shutters" seals the deal too! Enjoying the brief beautiful Fall Foliage season is a very small benefit for what follows for the next 5 months.

I have one question, with all the knowledge here in the forum. Coupe production always starts in front and couple month later the convertible production. I am not a "MUSTANG" guru. But I know that the 2005 Coupe was build in FALL 2004 and the Convertible production started in February 2005. My "BABY" was one of the first one, build Feb. 2005.
So why should that change? Actually that's why I am getting a Coupe....

My 2 cent.

Correct. I didn't order a convertible though. Are you referring to me?
No I was referring to me and anyone that was upset that it would be delivered post optimal weather.

Perhaps you are correct. Ford on the other hand has just recently updated their Production Build Schedules and indicated that JOB2 Production of the S250 2015 Mustang Fastback/Coupe will commence approximately late Sept 2014 following the Convertible Build starting 30 days later in late Oct 2014. If that be the case, why can`t 2015 Mustang Convertibles at least be put into the Unscheduled Order Bank already as a legitimate Order without the error message of awaiting JOB2 date and missing a list of missing Parts without Prices on the DORA Report? If the Convertibles get delivered in Jan or Feb of 2015, ok! Lets just get them into the damn system already and they`ll get there whenever they arrive! I just want to be in line already! Not one but two Dealers have told me that clean-legitimate Convertible Orders are not yet accepted on either CONCEPTS or their Web Based DEaler Order System. Simply awaiting a "Green Light" to proceed!

We ALL are dealing with that. Many of these will be showing up when 2/3 of the country is dealing with the threat of the white stuff.

My point is we are ALL waiting. Mustang is behind its optimal selling season for basically one reason and that is the F150. That is their bread and butter. We ALL get in line behind every single one of those buyers basically. Ford gets their high volume stuff out first then proceeds to the lower volume vehicles or configurations. It just happens that a convertible is one of those lower volume configurations and it just happens that it is coming out at an non-optimal time. It sucks but there isn't anything we can do about it. The answer is easy, have some patience, albeit however "difficult" that may be or go buy something else that is on the lot. Right now I'm still willing to wait. Frustration is understandable, but complaining isn't going to speed anything up at this point of the process. Back to production tomorrow and with each Mustang built it brings us closer to ours we ordered. :)

phil1336 I would suggest contacting Ford about these questions if you haven't already. Tricia from FordCustomerService should be back on the site tomorrow. I'm still sitting on Order Processing since 7/10 almost 2 months now. Others even longer than that. Some patience is required. I'm not apologizing for Ford at all, this process takes time. Frankly I think Ford does a far superior job to letting us have access to order/build/shipping information than either Dodge or GM has as well. This is going to be a big production month too. Your wait is getting shorter. We are almost there. :)

I would say that both the Coupe and Convertible are being built post optimal weather. Now that the really nice convertible days are behind most of North America, minus the sunbelt, Ford isn't going to be hurting by releasing convertibles in the spring of 2015 calendar year. I was in the camp wishing for the April 2014 release of both. All these delivery issues will become distant noise once the cars start hitting the owners hands.

All of these comments about "If mine doesn't arrive before Yada-Yada-Blah-Blah date, i'm canceling" is REALLY killing the mood around here. :frusty: If you want to complain about it, go buy something else and leave the rest of us in peace! So what if its past "optimal" driving weather, it just means you have to wait a bit longer. Go outside, sit in yours, and make engine noises. That should hold you over for a little while.

I have to agree with Don. First off, we early adopters ordered our cars with next to no information from Ford. Just a couple shots of the AE and some concept photo's. We ordered based on the limited info dealers had. I placed my order in June through the dealers fleet department. My order is still "In Process". What were all of the production line photos of? test cars? According to my dealer, Job 1 was the production of the 1,964 AE, job 2 was the production of the non AE. Imagine my surprise (and confusion) when I saw the pictures of the employee's holding "Job 1" T-Shirts with an 8/28/14 date, but they are standing under non AE cars... It seems Ford is delaying the release on purpose since there are so many 2014's still in dealerships! We who put our money down when Ford accepted our order's back in June, should be driving them now or at least early October. Now I read November! That's just bad customer relations.

I will patiently wait. I do feel there have been delays in production and they are behind schedule. We will never know because of the "spin" corporate America uses on all press releases.

Lol... yeah...just a ton of very impatient people... I'd rather have a car that works and problem free than a rush to get it done like they have any influence on it... true, I also can't wait... well, I should say I am very eager to own my very first[emoji2]
