That being said, I have suspicion Ford is having either some plant tooling or parts supply logistical issues that they're trying to iron out. Keep in mind FoMoCo has A LOT of irons in the fire going into the 2015 my w/ new roll outs two of which are VERY high profile w/ the Mustang and the F150, two vehicles which could be considered the bread 'n butter cornerstones for the company. If they have to delay a bit to make absolutely sure they get it right - essentially the anti-GM strategy - then that's probably a wise course. Once the vehicles start flowing and everyone is fat and happy w/ their new toys, no one will remember these hiccups a year from now.
No, what is really happening is the cranial nerve II has crossed the pudendal nerve while not ascertaining the information put forth in these threads, causing a shitty outlook on the current normal situation.

chief is saying, you're thinking too much into this.
Eh, I figured he was just saying that some of us suffer from occasional cranial-rectal inversion syndrome, exacerbated by a preponderance of impatience . . . which, yeah that too. ;)

Long Initial delivery time.

Just thought I'd share, if I'm able to order this week like i'd like to, then my expected delivery date will be Dec 15th. Just thought you all would want to know you can expect them long before then if you've already ordered and well later if you haven't. So it looks like about 5 months time from ordering to delivery.
My dealer said that his first 'display' unit would not arrive until about Mid-September.
As production increases and pre-sales submissions are filled...times between order and delivery should significantly shorten.
I am planning on ordering a "Spring" delivery of a convertible. My dealer stated that it should be 6-8 weeks for delivery after the New Years.

Did they give you any indication when they might have cars on the lot for the rest of us mere mortals who might want to test drive a car before committing?

That would be the display units! If they won't let you drive it, find another dealer. There will be plenty out there by the end of September.

PS, my previous post meant you were portraying a shitty outlook because you didn't read the threads about scheduling. Everything is normal so far.

Ok Ordered, new delivery is Dec 17th. But it can be earlier according to my sales rep. So it's definitely not set in stone. Just a heads up and update.

 me too! 5-24 Thinking I might just order snow tires now :headbonk:
Luckily being in Austin, TX we don't see much ice or snow so I can get away with running the summer tires year round. Only thing I'm not looking forward to is the drive out to Florida at Christmas. Louisianna roads are the worst I have ever driven on.

So is this good or bad? I just got this email from my dealer.

"FYI, Ford now won't allow us to take orders until 9/10.. So I am glad we got yours in when we did! Yours is in queue!"
