I would like to try to drag this back to topic from Mr.Lahey over there, hopefully he gets distracted with these...

 :coolphotos:   :paddle: :dnftt: :ban: :focus:

To everyone else, I have zero experience with tunes but do a lot of reading (which makes me an expert of course). Anyone's thoughts on these tunes running leaner and burning pistons up? This is a DD for me, I do hella miles, and I plan on potentially keeping the car past 100k miles, so reliability is a priority. Its just so tempting given a simple tune would propel this into GT territory
It would be "more" of a concern from a OTS map than a custom tune. As an example, Torrie will have you datalog to ensure the tune is spot on for your conditions (fuel, altitude, weather). With those things taken into consideration you should have no problem with a tune and reliability, assuming all other factors remain the same.

OTS tunes run excessively rich, even stock the car runs richer than ideal for power & economy. Any of the reputable tuners are not going to tune the car so lean that you have to worry about burning up pistons.

I'm surprised you only dropped .2 going from Bama to Unleashed. I only did one 0-60 attempt since updating from Bama to Unleashed and I dropped .3 with a full tank of gas, trunk full of groceries, horrible mid day Florida heat and humidity from the rain earlier in the day, and road was slightly wet. Bama is a major step up from stock but Unleashed is a major step up from Bama.

Is everyone just restarted or does anyone pay attention on these forums??!!?? The guy is posting about tuning his 2015 mustang GT, not an ecoboost!!!! He's getting 4.8 0-60 times cause he's in a freaking v8!!!!!!! Please people read and look before you mess everyone's head up with nonsense!!!
And yes I know how to spell retarded, please I take these firums very seriously, why is a guy with a GT posting in a 2.3 forum for boosted stangs??? Please someone else call that out so I'm not the only bad guy, by the way i Have had both tunes on my ecoboost mustang, from torrie and bama and bama is the best tune available for the SCT. Not talking bad about torrie, his tune was fine, bama is just on another level!!!!
He had an ecoboost, from which he posted the times... They are from the EB. He traded his EB for a GT.

You're 2 posts in and you're calling people out, really?
LOL one of the biggest fails in M6G history

might think about a lund tune as well, cars are flying with our lund ecoboost tune, and we can do it on your x4,

upr has picked up almost an entire second over their previous tuner with the lund tune

What wheel hp/tq numbers are you seeing? How much boost? Is the car full bolt on?

My auto (3.15) went 4.6 (2.3 0-30) with just the unleashed tune, warm air, and I didn't even try that hard. It will go lower with a harder launch. With cool air-well I assume I may need DR's.

First 1/4 mile track day is the 18th. Curious to see the trap and short times with a bit of sticky pavement.

True was the same thing on the v6 forums when I had that. All 0-60 no quarter mile.

I agree with you, except... 0-60 is much easier for people to obtain vs a track time.

Either way, too many factors which will skew results... Like surface prep or even track apps, known for not being accurate. Still, they all give something to compare to.

Put a track in everyone's back yard? (Me first please :D)

The 0-60 is a readily available measurement. Many can't run out to a street and blast off 100+ MPH runs. I have a perfectly flat section of black top that would be great for that if it didn't come with an impound and handcuff risk.

Sure the traps will tell the true story of how well power is being made, but the great improvement in 0-60 shows a tangible change that is easy to measure- I agree, it's not an end all measurement, but it is a measurement.

I will see how well they correlate when I hit the drag strip on the 18th. I'm only doing that for tuning purposes as I prefer turns so I don't expect to set records.

Besides, just like in golf it's most important to practice your short game (for any type of racing).
