Hi guys,

Does anyone know the part# for underhood plastic insulation pushpins? I removed the insulation to install the roush hood vents and of course dropped 2 down the engine bay, the Bermuda triangle. Wtf!
I need the part number, any help would greatly appreciated.
Thanks Anthony

Has it finally been resolved whether the liner is only for sound or if it does something else like protecting the hood paint from engine heat or to smother an engine fire? Seems like there’s only disagreement or confusion in old threads.

Which number on the bag do you need ?

I don’t have an invoice (they were part of a warranty claim), but if it’s not one of the above I think I might still have the bag to check for other numbers :like:

It is for sound. Not for any of the old wives tales of "protecting the paint" or "fire suppression." It is sound insulation. Lots of cars don't have it and lots of people have removed it on their Mustang with no affect on the paint.

And have you ever seen a car that was "saved" from burning down in an engine fire by that insulation - which is flammable itself?
