Thanks

With the JLT (And I suspect all open-top intakes) it will have enough of a gap to drive up intake temps some, even when at speed on the road.beginning to look at CAI's. I have removed the hood insulation, should there be any adjustments to accommodate the little bit of extra room?

I think the better option is to cut that front corner section of the liner and put it back in place. There are sufficient pins to hold it in place (there are 4 or 5 just for that corner) and it will seal as well as designed.Would it be beneficial to maybe shim up the box 1/4" to a 1/2" for a better seal?

No reason other than looks and exposing the pony under the hood that is covered by the liner.why remove the hood liner?
This and it retains water after a wash!No reason other than looks and exposing the pony under the hood that is covered by the liner.
Good to go out-of-the box!Our engineers started with a large surface area high-flow nano-fiber air filter, added our famous “race-tested” velocity stack entry and then designed a black powder-coated heat shield with a durable rubber gasket to seal the shield against the vehicle’s hood
