So I figure I can't be the only one who has some of these questions, so I wanted to start a thread for some tuning questions I have.

1. How do you know the battery level of the Cobb Access Port? I cant seem to find an indicator anywhere on it.

2. How are the other drive modes effected? Can I still use snow/rain mode and have it perform as expected? How about sport mode?

3. I noticed that now in the center gauges it always shows the gear the car is in. Prior to flashing it, that only showed if I was using the paddle shifter. I assume this is standard procedure?

4. Does the Acccessport charge while plugged into the ECU?

Thats it for now, but I assume I will have more :headbonk:

1. No battery level that I know off. It runs off of your cars power so no need I guess.
2. I don't know about this because I have a base Eco.
3. I think COBB made the gear selection standard with their tune.
4. Well it runs off car power so no need to charge.

1. The AP is only powered by the OBDII port.

2. I can't answer that one. Base PP here.

3. That's just what Cobb has programmed it to do. It's the same way with my Fusion too. If it annoys you, a tuner may be able to turn it off. Adam could probably answer that one for you.

4. No. The AP is powered by the OBDII port while in the car and by the USB port while plugged into a computer. To my knowledge, there is no battery within the unit.

thanks, the reason I ask about charging is because as I started flashing the tune, it said to make sure it was plugged into a usb power source or something like that. So was not sure if it could run out of juice while plugged in. It would be nice to have some sort of icon that indicates current battery charge level.
That was referring to your car battery. If your car battery was weak and dies during the flashing procedure, then that can cause some problems. I'd assume Cobb means to hook your car battery up to something like a battery tender while flashing the car.

I noticed the gear thing also it actually annoyed me at first but now iam used to it. All the toggle settings work just like before.Normal doesn't kickdown far enough and feels kind of lame, even more so then before the tune idk if it is. Just seems that way though

So are the other drive modes "tuned" as well? So will sport be better than normal when tuned?

they do the same as they would to the factory tune,i think they are just throttle response and transmission shift behavior changes.

So what are some worth while things to monitor with the gauges. I got six of them, interested in using them from time to time.

Also I hear about different tunes, like economy, are those part of the cobb tune? And if so how do I access them, as I dont believe I saw that option.

I monitor different things depending one what we're working on but for everyday use I monitor:

AFR, Boost (or TIP actual, again depending on what we're working on) ign corr.1,2,3,4

Same here. It depends on what I'm doing. If I'm logging, I'll set AFR, Boost, Ign. Corr. 1, TC Lockup Status, Charge Air Temps, and OAR. If I'm just out and about, I'll set AFR, Boost, and Ign. Corr. 1-4.

Are Ign. Corr. 1-4 to check for misfires?

So running the cobb stage one right now. Drove it around town all day, does not seem to have much more power. It seems a little smoother, but not really quicker. Does not seem worth the risk unless it really is a noticeable difference.

So I found this on the Cobb website:
Stage1 93 Octane
(Contains Max Perf. / Mid-High Perf. / Mid-Low Perf. / Low Perf. / Economy)
How do I know which one I am running and how do I switch them?

 Map slot 1 = Max Perf. – This is the standard OTS map with full boost.  Map slot 2 = Mid-High Perf. – This is the standard OTS map with 6% less boost.  Map slot 3 = Mid-Low Per. – This is the standard OTS map with 11% less boost.  Map slot 4 = Low Perf. – This is the standard OTS map with 17% less boost.  Map slot 5 = Economy - This mode disables the wastegate and adjusts WOT fueling and ignition timing
for efficiency. This can be used to quickly lower power for times when performance is not needed.
