SO does anyone who has tuned their ecoboost have the 4 selectable drive modes? I am 3-4 days into my cobb tune and I dont feel like the car has anyone more in it than if I just run the car in Sport+ mode. I am still waiting on map to get me their tune, but so far not feeling it. Plus I am down 2-3 mpg since tuning the car. :(
No, I don't, but have you tried pressing cancel on the cruise control and making sure it's in Slot No. 1 (rpm needle at 1,000)? Also, make sure that you flashed the correct tune (Stage 1 91 or Stage 1 93)? Stage 0 is pretty much a stock tune and you wouldn't want that. Trust me, if you're on one of the Stage 1 tunes and in Slot No. 1, you'll definitely be able to tell a big difference, especially under WOT.

Yes I have the drive modes. When in sport+ second gear should snap you back in the seat and scratch the tires.It is a noticeable difference. I've got a custom 92 tune but it dynos quite a bit lower than cobbs ots 93 numbers.

Look I don't know exactly what goes into a tune, and not sure of tuning companies are taking drive modes into consideration. And is anyone really sure exactly what changes ford changes to the computer for the various drive modes. It was a legit question.
I'd be relatively confident that Cobb took the drive modes into consideration. Braden would be the best guy to answer your questions regarding what Ford has done with the programming.

Trying asking here or PM 'COBB Tuning' directly. Honestly, instead of any speculation from us, Braden could tell you directly what's up. :thumbsup:

So are the other drive modes "tuned" as well? So will sport be better than normal when tuned?
they do the same as they would to the factory tune,i think they are just throttle response and transmission shift behavior changes.

You got a smart ass reply the 5th time because Ive answered you in another thread as well as on fb group and here.Yes you should feel a noticeable difference with a tune and....YES You can use the drive modes with a tune,it doesn't change engine parameters.. Now stop worrying and go enjoy your car:cheers:

I wonder if it's possible...

Any tuners can pipe up on this? Would love to be able to leave "Normal" and "Snow and Rain" stock, and have Sport and Track engage the tune.

Is it possible to have different tunes for different driving modes?

Ok, all my drive mods/steering operate as normal. I'm running the OTS Stage 1-93 octane and there is a definite change of character in the car. I actually commented in 2 other threads that the tune "really wakes the car up" if you cannot tell the difference maybe something is wrong.

The drive mode states do not tie into anything related to engine power. For the most part, each drive mode is associated with its own throttle translation. The "Track / Sport+" modes have an all new feature present on the Mustang which will trigger an alternate series of transmission profiles.

These profiles are calibrated much more aggressively from the factory to enhance shifting firmness and timing. Our current Stage1 calibrations make changes to the throttle translation for this mode, along with some of the high torque shifting profiles to enhance the 1->2, and 2->3 shifts. We will continue to enhance our transmission tuning calibrations as power levels increase and customer preferences change.

All of the transmission and engine calibration changes we make are fully available for tuning with our Accesstuner Pro and Race software for anyone looking to make their cars behave uniquely. It's quite amazing what you can do with the transmission when tuned aggressively!

Thanks Braden for the feedback. I was just curious if there was a trigger available when the driving mode was changed, much like others have used buttons on the steering wheel. Then when the mode changes, the tune changes. So I know the stock modes don't play with the engine - but if your controller could sense a change in mode, then it could choose an appropriate tune at that time.

Make sense?

I got my tune file from Adam at MAP today and installed it tonight. I took it for a quick ride and um yeah, this thing is tuned. Car feels great. No more questions from me :)
Finally, lol! Just kidding. :p I'm glad to hear that you like it. Adam is doing pretty well with his tunes.

I do appreciate the people have answered a lot of my questions. All of this is new to me. I have a lot to learn and I am trying to understand it all. First mustang, first sports car, first modding etc.
