I know before anyone bashes me there are a ton of post on tunes and I should have read them all before posting.
Well I did read about 100 of them and want to get everyone's opinion on this.

My 18 is bone stock under the hood and wanted to ask if you had about $1000 to get a couple parts and a tune/tuner what parts would you put on your GT. Its my daily driver so I just want a bit more horsepower and will never track the car but want to be able to jump all over that stock mustang that test me on the street. I currently have a h pipe with resonator delete and axle back Roush.

Lets hear your ideas!!

4.10 gears in the rear end lol. Will get you the jump on any impromptu street race compared to a stock car

I was thinking maybe headers but I already wake the dead when I start my car now until it warms up. Also CAI and I guess a tune.

Unless you're tuning for E85, the gains with a tune aren't huge. You do pick up some low end torque and drivability improvements though.

IMO gears and good tires go further. Do you have a manual car or an A10?

Is there a downfall or risk to running E85 in your car for a daily driver??

Well just like any tune you can kiss your warranty goodbye. Fuel mileage is bad, you might get 150 miles to a tank. But otherwise not really, the gen 3 fuel system is pretty tolerant of ethanol out of the gate.

Hella gains though. 50-60whp.

Also if I recall storage for winter is pain, e85 goes bad within weeks i think. Could be wrong but a lot of people flex tune to the pump fuel for winter as e85 goes bad

maybr stabilizer helps idk but I have friends who complain about e85 and storage

4.09 gears and the Ford performance tune. You will walk away from most mustangs, cameros, chargers and keep your warranty.

The tune is needed for the car to accept the gear.

I ran my DD for over 40k miles on E85. I'd average 180-220 miles per tank depending how much freeway time. Never had any issues. Plus it's addictive. Once you go e85 it's hard to go back. Really wakes up the m6 down low in the rpm range.

Tuning for e85 is by far the best bang for your buck and will get you more power than anything in that price range. No parts needed other than the tuner. Keep the stock cai and keep your iats down as well.

one of the main reasons and big issue with the 18+ S550’s and why they “feel” so slow with the MT82 vs the 15-17 feel with the MT82 is solely the gearing. Ford made the gearing on the 18+ S550’s longer for fuel economy purposes to maintain good gas mileage while also being able to increase Hp and Tq. This is also a big reason why the autos with their 10 gears end up being a little faster. The 3.73 on pp1/pp2 Manuals end up feeling and being equal to the 15-17’s 3.55’s. My suggestion is 100% do the 4.09 gears by ford performance. I did them and when the car was NA still it made it feel violent. The performance and 1st and 2nd gear improvement with low end Tq feel was immediate. It was hands down the biggest improvement to the car I had done to it until I boosted it. With that being said the 4.09’s are more similar to the 15-17 pp1 3.73’s in feeling so they feel perfect now on my 18. Oh and it is very hard to tune for 4.09’s if you have a 19+ due to the auto rev match feature. Last time I checked ford still hadn’t added the update into their tunes or forscan for the 4.09’s to function with the auto rev match feature. So essentially if you have a 19+ you would have to turn the feature off. An 18 works fine after a great custom tune since it didn’t have the feature.

So I'm planning to put in headers and 3.73 Torsen diff pretty soon. Do you think I should just go with 4.09 gears before I swap the diff? I'm already tuned for E85 with standard 3.55 LSD.

How do you like the 409s now that you are boosted?

They are completely fine. Like I said the 18 MT82 trans’ gearing is longer so the 4.09 or more equivalent to 3.73’s. When driving normal cruise speed you wouldn’t even know the gearing was shorter or the car was boosted.
