If your goal is to avoid failing cats, I’m not sure that’s the solution.

Unfortunately there are no great options here. Stock fail, aftermarket fail maybe more and worse. I’m running gt500 cats. Some have kicked around hellcat cats. Tuning plays a big part but most tuners don’t really concern themselves with the cats.

Did you buy OEM gt500 cats? If so, what is the part number for it?

Yes, I bought used though. They are pricey new. You can find them new on parts.ford.com or many dealer websites. They require welding though.

Gotcha, welding since they don't fit the normal GT pipes? What diameter are the cats? I assume probably bigger right. Also is it worth getting the gt500 pipes too? or just the catalytic converter itself is fine

On the topic of cat failure , would Direct port water injection help solve this problem ?? Or help at least.

The gt500 cat piping is 2.75” and gen3 is 2.5, but that’s not the main problem.

On the passengers side, the cat will bolt up to the header collector 2-bolt flange but it’s too high and will contact the bottom of the car. You can buy a blank 2-bolt flange and sandwich it in there as a spacer. It’s not ideal but it’s worked for me so far.

On the drivers side stock header is built with the cat as one piece so there is no flange to bolt the gt500 header to. You have to cut and weld a flange to it.

On the other end, the piping at the connection ahead of the stock resonator is a size mismatch. The stock connection there is only 2.25” so you have to adapt that as well.

Sorry I mean headers. Do the gt500 headers bolt directly on a stock gt manifold?
The predator is still a coyote so yes the manifolds will bolt to the heads.

The 5.2 manifold bolt pattern is different from coyote so the manifolds will not bolt on.

I thought you could move the studs? or is that the GT350?
