I've been recently toying with the idea of getting a tune for my 16 GT. Right now it is stock but I have a ported 18 manifold, JLT intake, 47 lbs injectors and a GT350 throttle body sitting in my garage ready to be installed. I reached out to Lund but I wasn't impressed by their services. That's why I am here. I would like some recommendations on tunes. What are y'all rockin?

In before this thread gets heated...

Lund, PBD, Steeda, or a shop near you that does dyno tuning are all good ways to go. When it comes to tuning, there are multiple ways to skin a cat. No tune is the best and you are liable to get bias answers in a thread like this based on what everyone is running in their car.

Honest/bias answers is what I'm looking for. I just want to know what people like and are currently using. Maybe it will open up my eyes to something different.

I've used Unleashed Tuning on my 2.3EB, 5.0, 3.5EB and LT1. Lovely power delivery and throttle connection. But Steeda would be my next choice. Do !NOT! go with 5-star on the 2.3EB. Their tune was such an abomination the car was completely undriveable. Maybe they could have fixed it in a updated rev but I wasn't about to tempt fate.

I'm guessing you didn't try search. :) Not trying to be a wise ass but this topic has been discussed about a million times on this forum. They all pretty much say exactly what Ebm said.

By the way, have to ask. Lund is considered to be one of the better/best tuners for our Mustangs. What didn't you like about them?

I did see other posts but I wanted to create my own to shape it how I wanted to shape it.

Not a fan of Lund because their tunes are just okay. I've done quite a bit of research and watched a lot of videos and Lund did not impressed me.

if you're looking for the last 0.5% of what's possible, then you want to find a Dyno operator. Otherwise it's to be expected that you won't be winning any bench-racing pecker contests with mail-in tunes. There is such a thing as damn good enough.

This is interesting. I have a 94 Z28 that has some work done to it and now it needs a tune. I'm going to check them out. Thanks for your input.

I had a similar experience with 5-Star on my old 17GT - after 3 revisions, it still would barely idle, and wouldnt rev past 4k rpms. They stopped communicating after that. I ewnt to Lund and it was more or less perfect the first tune.

To the OP, I'd recommend looking at AED as a tuner as well. I'm using Shaun on my 2020 and its been very good over all. Really though, the combination you are looking to run, the major tuners have done 100's of the same cars. It should be pretty close to spot on the first tune. Like it has already been mentioned, if you are looking for that last small percent, you'll need someone with a dyno. Also I think Matt is referring to the newer LS based LT1 found in the new Camaros. Not many folks tune the 92-97 LT1s anymore. PCMforless still does it. Moe Bailey is another person who I think still does, you may need to reach out to him on Facebook though.

I am currently tuned by Lund as well. But I also have experience dealing with Unleashed Tuning. I used them for my EB. I know he tunes the 5.0. Torrie is very responsive. I honestly don't think the guy sleeps lol. He will answer any questions and not make you feel like an idiot either. Top notch customer service.

Does AED use the Ngauge or SCT?

Not trying to derail the topic but I recently ordered a dedicated e85r lund tune as well as LTH's and an intake. Looking to have everything installed and done in the same week (hopefully). Whats the process on going about something like this, am I going to receive a baseline tune first, if so how long does this usually take? Apologies if this has been asked numerous times, did a search on the above questions and couldn't find anything. Lund also seems to not be too cooperative on answering my questions.

I just sent them an email so we'll see how it goes!
