With SCT tuner you have the option to Return to Stock tune before you take it to the dealership for any warranty work.

Not necessarily. If you had an engine problem, it would have to be proven that the tune was the cause. I don't believe that tunes from people like Torrie (Unleashed) get rid of any of the protection strategies that Ford has in the PCM, so there should be very, very low risk. Most of the tuning changes on an NA engine will be optimizing the A/F ratio for performance and fuel economy, without as much emphasis on emissions. Ford has to meet emissions first and then can tune within that box.

Yes as he said there is a low risk when getting a tune for the car. Torrie from Unleashed has been tuning a lot of ecoboosts in there forum with great results and they have reported no problems at all.

Yes I did and sent the Data-log file to Torrie, but he said I didn't do it right :( He said I need to select my data points, which include Spark Advance, Knock Sensor, Measured AFR, RPM, Throttle Angle Actual, ECT and IAT. Once I select these points he wants me to do a Wide Open Throttle on the car for 20-30 seconds and send him the completed file. So I will be doing that tonight again.

I am learning as I go with this tuning deal...I never tuned any of my past cars so this is very interesting to me, and plus I am in the IT business so anything to do with computers, ecu chips and programming I am a total nerd about it. Plus I get a deeper understanding of my cars inner workings

Just to give you guys an idea at what I am looking at..these are screenshots of the graph and the different data points for the datalog. Now the fun part is to figure this whole thing out. I know Torrie is looking at these numbers as well but I would really like to learn it myself. Keep you guys updated.

This looks complicated. What's a "strategy" or "strategy point"? How would a typical user know what values he wanted for all of the parameters?

If it's in a turbo, you can increase the boost with good results. I don't get what a tune is doing with a V6, because it's already set up pretty good, unless you just want to go racing and give up driveability, mpg, temperature, timing and other real world parameters.

What the tune is doing is adjusted air/fuel ratio, Throttle response, auto trans shift points and firmness. You are right the only reason most of us want a tune is for the increased performance but you do not give up any driveability or mpg. In fact you would probably see in increase in mpg if you drove it normally.
